Nice job, Mike. Put me on the confirmed list, please.

Booked flights some time ago, in anticipation of the
official RUN announcement.

Jan 07/08: ORD-NRT-SIN (UA 881/803)
Jan 15: SIN-ORD (UA 896)

Booked, confirmed, upgraded - life is sweet sometimes!

Hotel split between Sentosa Resort & Spa and Grand Hyatt.

Please put me down as a tentative.

I plan to go visit the fam in CGK that month. Perhaps I can schedule a long layover in SIN on my way to CGK so I can attend the Do

Hmm. I wanted to go to last years but was otherwise detained. Maybe if my plans for new years are hampered by work I can make up for it with this. I guess I'm in the 'interested enough to subscribe to the thread to keep updated' column.

For anyone travelling ORD-SIN via NRT, UA is currently running a DoubleMiles promo. "Almost" all Y class tix are eligible (down to V - I'm told), and details are located HERE

Best, Dave

What have the tickets been pricing out at? I'm getting ~ $1300+ for the weekend from ORD. What have been others' experiences so far?

I paid $875 for a W all in with an open jaw returning from BKK. I think you need to stay the 6 days to get an upgradable fare under $1000.

Ususally we get a few maybes going green as late as early December.

Adding one more at dinner is a breeze and all activities that may occur will occur regardless of numbers so no pressure really. I think the main thing is to strategize a good air deal and a good hotel deal and if that takes a few more weeks you will be in the same boat as aa couple dozen others No worries.

This sounds like fun. I'm new to FT so it would be cool to meet some other members. Actually I am going to Bali for new year's and flying back through SIN on 1/9.. doh! I would have to book another RT. But I'm going for 1k next year so that's doable.

On UA I see SFO-LAX-SIN-HKG-SFO for $1089 AI.

SFO-LAX 1000 bonus miles
(more EQM stopping in LAX)
HKG-SFO 5000 bonus miles

All UA metal. 1000 bonus booking miles

Sounds fun.. I'm tentatively in

Last year we took a side trip to KUL, and, thanks to the wonderful advice we received from all of you, enjoyed the Singapore first class lounge on out way out and the Malaysia first class lounge on the way back.

This year we are thinking of taking a side trip to Saigon. Any great insights?

I'm paying $1144 for UA RNO-SFO-SIN Jan.10-15 (fare=Q). I'm not complaining because last year I paid $1275 for the same itinerary. As gfowler-ord-1k points out though, if I could have extended my stay and booked Jan.9-15, price would fall to $824 (fare=W)!
