Two things about the men's room about at ART - there are plenty of back issues of US' inflight mag on the toilet tank to keep you occupied while nature takes its course, and space constraints dictate that the only urinal is placed not two feet from the sink, and angled in such a way that the person using it is in full view of the person using the sink when they look in the mirror. Great for exhibitionists!
Regarding the TSA, of the eight people that boarded with me at ART, I was the only one who didn't get the full treatment. Might have been something to do with my now-automatic adherence to TSA checkpoint rules.
As for the cab, I didn't use it, but I was talking to two elderly local ladies who were waiting for my flight who described the cabbie exactly as someone else in this thread did - fat, smelly and always blasting country music.

I was in ART last night, stayed at the Days Inn. I called the day before for the free shuttle and they were waiting for me when the plane arrived and took me back the next day. The hotel seems a little pricy for the area ($79 after taxes), but is probably cheaper than a car rental and a less expensive hotel.
The hotel was perfecly fine and had a Dennys attached in case you didn't get enough fried food at the airport.

Oh, let me guess..... there were two families with children ahead of me in the jetway. Did someone lose their lunch? I was out of there in a hurry. I was at the B&B in Sackets by 10:08 pm.
On the way back the pilot asked the person in 1A to change seats with me (I had snagged 1F) so that I could get better legroom. She then tells me that she has to sit in the front or she will vomit. She was clutching a barf bag throughout the flight.
One winter I was on a PHL - Elmira flight on one of these and I was back in row 9. It jerked back and forth randomly as it flew through a storm and I nearly lost my lunch.

A gentle reminder, could we please avoid speculative personal reference stereotypes which do not reflect the diversity of our community per the FT TOS (I've selectively edited a post and the quotes of that post)? Thank you, Ocn Vw 1K, Moderator.

OK - leave it to last-minute-ldsant. . .I'm flying to ART this weekend - Sat/Sun from SEA. Can't seem to find a rental car (flight gets in at 5:30 PM on Saturday and Enterprise is closed), expedia tells me there aren't any cars available. Any hints/suggestions? Also - how far is the B/B - any reviews from folks that have stayed there? Thanks guys. . .figure ya'll will reduce my stress

I was in ART about 2 weeks ago and I got the full security treatment as well.
I was scheduled to fly through ART again on my return but the airport was closed due to what JAXpax stated earlier. Luckily I was able to skip that portion of my trip and fly directly to SAN.

So the consensus is......
I am flying in to ART @ 5:25pm this saturday and staying at the econolodge.
How much will the cab cost to econolodge?
Should i call upon arrival or make a reservation ahead of time for the cab?
Any restaurants near the econolodge to have Dinner at that night?
Anyone else on my flight into ART that is staying at the econolodge (or close by it) and wants to share a cab and split the cost?
Thanks for all the information
