Doing just the opposite...taking the last flight into ART Friday night, first flight out Saturday morning (the 6:30am is actually the ONLY flight out on Saturdays now...) We were supposed to go back through ART on Sunday, but due to a schedule change, we rerouted through SYR on the return.

Our schedule for the weekend:

Friday evening: EWR-PIT-ART
Saturday: ART-PIT-CLT-IAH
Sunday: IAH-DCA-SYR-PIT-EWR

I slept in a rental car in the parking lot It was cheaper than a hotel. (But then again I sleep on the bench in EUG when I do my runs, and have slept in other fine airports around the world

I knew it was him on my last journey to ART, but apparently (from what wharvey tells me) you don't remember it's me!

Yes, my friend and I were both VDB'd off the 1:00 PM ART-PIT Sunday flight and took the 3:40 PM flight instead. The agent offered it to us when we checked in and seemed elated that we accepted. We both originally had 3 1/2 hour layovers at PIT, so it was just a matter of waiting in Watertown as opposed to waiting at PIT. About 15 minutes before departure, the agent came out to the picnic table and told us that it looked like there would be 5 no-shows and that if that happened we could go ahead and take the 1:00 flight and keep our vouchers. About 5 minutes before takeoff a car screeched to a halt and 5 people ran to the check-in counter. They were the missing 5 and had been held up at the Canadian border. The agent later commented that this happens all the time.

Hey Dogcanyon,

I should have come over and said hello!

I actually came back on Saturday into Rochester... so we had to drive up to Watertown to get my car on Sunday. We got there around 12:15 pm and my partner said "Do you think those are Flyertalkers sitting over there." I did not see the infamous FT luggage tags, so did not want to interrupt!

I will be on the 9:10AM PIT/ART on Sept 2.
Then return to PIT on the 3:40PM. Hope it doesn't rain, as that picnic table doesn't have much cover.

Hope to see other FTalkers.

The flight is now Y5 B5 N5..... so it looks like it might go out even. But thanks for replying anyways, and mentioning the Canadian border. I'll have to start the drive a bit earlier.

If there are delays or IRROPS you will
Sounds like there are at least 4 of us transiting ART during the course of Labor Day weekend:

MKE-MR <4655, 9-2; 4650, 9-3; 4651/4652, 9-5>
greatam <4651/4654, 9-2>
TelevisionTdTina <4651, 9-2; 4652, 9-5>
timid_trnchcoat <4653, 9-2; 4650, 9-3>

I've got an FT tag on my laptop bag, and possibly on my backpack as well if I remember to move it over.
