We took a bump and stayed in Pittsburgh on this run (9/10-11). We got a hotel room, meal vouchers and $200 each in US travel credits.

This weekend, 9/17-18 was originally an ART run, changed some time ago to BUF when the SAN-PIT nonstop went away. We stayed in Niagara Falls, very nice, first time for both of us. Upgraded to first on PHL-BUF and BUF-PHL, exit rows SAN-PHL and PHL-SAN.

This mistake fare has had an unexpected result. We are now booking at least half our travel on US, the other half on UA. I am putting miles into MP and my wife into DM, so as to keep my status on UA and for her to earn status on US.

Love those exit rows and complimentary upgrades for even bottom tier elites and their companions!

Due to schedule changes my two-PNR trip via ART to ORD in November wouldn't work -- I was able to request and get both tix refunded. My status for next year is already set and I wasn't particularly looking forward to the 6am BWI departure for these flights.

Kudos to US for calling me to discuss the schedule changes for each PNR.

Look up into the tree to which the picnic table is chained at ART.

Was great to see you again Spiff.

Might have been my last trip to ART

Lovely place for a Mileage Run. Often I never see the outside of the Airport... although I hear it's a bit chilly out in January. LOL

Has anyone stayed at the Econo Lodge in Watertown? I'm headed there in two weeks and got the Econo Lodge for $45.

Sorry to tell you, but the Econo Lodge is a DUMP! I stayed there one time and wouldn't want to return again. Old, rooms small, beds with that creepy bear If you can't get Ontario Place near Sacketts Harbor, Days Inn would be your next best bet. Should be under $73 w/ taxes for one night at Days Inn.

On a side note, my PIT-ART flight today was overweight, so I volunteered and got a free ticket, free night of hotel, and they just trimmed my itn so that I just fly home tomorrow. ^

I am flying ART-PIT-SFO-EUG-SFO-ORD-PIT-ART, this coming Monday and Tuesday. If anyone else is travelling, PM me - we might be on the same flights.

I have stayed there twice... and for $45, it is fine. GEEZ... what more do you need than a safe and clean place to sleep?

Few restaurants right across the street... nothing fancy.

Have a safe trip!

heh. Well, I did worse...

USAir couldn't find a hotel with rooms where their vouchers would work anywhere near the airport. So they put us at a "Travel Inn", which was $45 a night. I cringed, and since I was one stay shy of Gold in *wood, I called *wood res, and they found me a 4 Pts in Cranberry, PA. Another guy in the same situation wasn't too enthused about going to the travel inn either, so we split the cost on a rental car, and went to the 4 Pts instead.

Now I'm back at PIT, and got $45 in cash from USAir (my room was more than $45 unfortunately), but I guess getting a subsidized stay at a decent 4 Pts, that will make me gold, along with the free ticket makes it worthwhile to me... I didn't want to push the agent for a TCV, but I figure I can use the free ticket to stage me somewhere for a decent run, on UA or CO

Ramada Review? No More Airport Shuttle for Ontario Place Hotel

I am going this weekend and have to stay overnight. Murray has left for Florida for the winter so the Ontario Place Hotel can't provide a shuttle from the airport anymore (I imagine Sackett's Harbor is pretty dead by now).

I chose the Ramada Inn over the Econolodge (indoor pool there looks attractive, but I don't trust pictures and at least one person this thread claims it is a dump); the Ramada is directly across the street from Salmon River Mall, so I figured I would at least have something to do. Anyone else tried the Ramada Inn in Watertown yet?
