Ok, so I am just now leaving because I was late getting back from running errands so I will be there shortly. Plus, I am hardly ever on time for anything!

As usual, another great gathering. The locals who haven't yet been able to meet up with us just don't know what they are missing. :p ;)

The gathering locations for November, December, and January are tentatively scheduled - keep your eyes on this thread for the forthcoming details. :)

WOW! Thanks Jen (and hostess helper, Pam).

Everyone did a great job bringing wines and wonderful food.

This newbie says thanks for making me feel part of the group. Also, thanks to Techgirl for hosting -- and explaining the tech part of her handle :)

Yes -- kudos to Jen for another totally fun gathering! Nice to see everyone and to meet the new folks!

Urgh.

(Actually, between the 4 glasses of agua I had at the par-tay and the bottle of water I drank before going to sleep, I'm fine. Someone else isn't, however... ;) )

I never wanna hear the words "tea bag" again...

November

Next get-together will be November 21 (Tuesday).

The consensus yesterday evening was to go stuff ourselves with melted cheese, boiled and/or fried meat, and possibly molten chocolate just prior to Turkey Day. In other words, we're fondueing it! (The DFW Fon Do? :D )

There is a Simply Fondue in Lewisville, or a Melting Pot in Southlake. This month's organizers prefer Southlake, for obvious self-interest reasons. ;)

Why not? A tea bag makes excellent tea! :D

I second the notion that it was an excellent get-together! The DFW crowd is awesome and I am glad I made my way up north to check things out (even though I got lost trying to find the place!)

It was awesome to see new and famaliar faces and to have some good wine, good food, good conversation, good poker game, and good laughs!

A big "thumbs up" to Jen for planning and hosting a great event!

Off topic and a bit off the mark... (why am I not surprised?!)

I really wish I could have made it out to techgirl's last night, but I was having way too much fun at the fair. I'll plan on being at next month's event, however. It looks promising so far since it's on a Tuesday and will thus not conflict in any immediately obvious way with my other standing obligations.

dcstudent Oct 18, 2006 4:19 pm

I shall be there

I shall attend on the 21st of November. My last class ends at 3:20pm on the 21st and then I'll be heading to Dallas to check-in at my hotel for my early start to the 22nd. So depending on the time/traffic I may be late for dinner, but I have to meet you guys....It sounds like its a fun group  , and once I move back to DC in mid-December I won't be out your way that often.

Aggie Girl Oct 18, 2006 10:16 pm

I'll be there on 11/21 as well, unless work travel gets in the way. And I vote for Southlake as it's on the way home from work. :)

I have it on very good authority been told that a "future" DFW FTer will be passing through that night and will attend.

I have also been told to warn the board that this "future" DFW FTer plans to host a monthly event at his/her new home sometime in the spring.
