I'm guessing that this location is possibly Martini Ranch or its equivalent. |

Which means that was only like one year ago. :)

It's all smoke and mirrors, obfuscation, sleight of typing, and misdirection. My sources tell me next month's gathering will be at Baby Dolls.
My sources also asked me for change at a gas station. There's a better than even chance that these same sources have nothing whatsoever to do with FlyerTalk. |
Bowing to the Collin Country crowd
Tuesday, September 19
Cru - A Wine Bar Shops at Legacy (Plano) 7:30 pm (time changed) I'll post more details later but I'll use this as the milemarker for September. I've been fairly pleased to discover that Plano is not nearly as far away now that there are great tollways running both north/south and east/west. For the Irving/Coppell folks who come east on the George Bush, its about 20 minutes away - ditto the folks coming from Denton who use the new 121 tollroad (tolling starts 9/1). And for the Dallas crowd, its a mere 20 minutes from you up the D.N.T. Cru offers wine by the bottle, glass, or flight (a flight being a tasting set of 3 small pours of a particular pairing - all sparking, for example, or all from Australia). While the offer full table service with entrees, their appetizer selection is great and the portions nicely sized for trying several things. If it has cooled off enough by then, I'd suggest sitting on the patio - while Tuesday nights in Plano aren't uber-exciting, it is in a "village" type development so there is foot traffic around there. Also, like its sister (the original) in the West Village, there is an indie cinema next door. Unlike the West Village, however, this location is at least double the size. (And Kev, you are welcome to saunter over to Baby Dolls later... ) |

An event just down the road from me and I might be out of town that day. I'll put it on my calendar just in case.

I have been reading about these get-togethers for years now on FT, and hoped to make one on my next trip through DFW. Unfortunately, my travel only allows me a shorter time in Dallas this year, and I will be leaving on Sat 9/16. Maybe next time.
