Thanks for the kind words, O2K. I had a great time at dinner with you and Dr. O2K and it was nice meeting Lucky and Hannibal, too ^. Your son's restaurant is fantastic.

I haven't really been keeping up with this thread but I will be seeing many of you in San Antonio (sans PBGal and PBDude again, of course ;)).

Actually, even in Venice, not everyone was staying at the Ai Mori.

The important thing is that there is a "Hotel Central" and good communication of events. It would appear that in San Antonio, The Westin will be "Hotel Central" and that there is a substantial corps group already booked there.

I am certain that it will be a truly wonderful event. We have long wanted to visit San Antonio and experience the River Walk. Doing so with a bunch of FlyerTalk friends will make it doubly special.

That will give you good practice for the TLV Meet. One of the places we will be visiting will be the Sea of Galilee, where walking on the water has long been in fashion.

Will the trip end at the Red Sea?

If so, it will be very difficult to say goodbye to each other at the Red Sea, where parting is such sweet sorrow...

No, I will not be going to the Red Sea as I am a Conservative.

(In fact, the only time I have been there was when I was almost dragged there by my UIG, who is slightly to the left of Stalin.)

There is a possibility, however, that we will go to the Dead Sea as I have always believed in "Better Dead than Red."

If she had to drag you, it sounded as though you were Stallin’...

Hey — whatever floats your boat!

...er...I mean, body...

She really did have to drag me there. To start off, I hate hot weather and the Red Sea area is about as hot as you can get.

More than that, it was during Passover (about 5 years ago) and the UIG wasn't satisfied to go to Eilat. Nope, she insisted we spend the holiday across the border in Egypt.

Somehow, it struck me as a bit weird to go from Israel to Egypt to celebrate a holiday marking the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt.

I only agreed because I preferred having the illogic of it strike me to having the UIG strike me -- or worse, going on strike herself!

It sounds to me like Egypt you.

Excuse me — I meant to say, she gypped you...

Well, the time came tonight. The hotel slippers slipped their last slip and I slipped into the AF slippers.

Dorlee was right -- they are very comfortable.

However, they left me with a problem. They come in a very nice, cloth, sack. The sack looks much too good to throw out yet I can not think of anything to do with it.

What is the usual (post flight) fate of the AF slipper sacks?

Well, of course, Dovie darling, you use them to put shoes in when you pack. That way, your shoes don't get your clothes dirty. ;)

For ladies who live in cold climes, they can slog through the snow in their boots, and take a pair of dressy shoes along in the AF bag and change for when they are going to an "affair".*

*Not the kind you are thinking of, Dov!

Too late. My ex saw the bag and appropriated it for herself.

I hope not. Needing shoes -- dressy or otherwise -- for the kind I am thinking of borders on the kinky!

Dov do you live with your ex?

No, but her house is about a 5 minute walk from mine and she comes here frequently -- sometimes I feel too frequently.

This is definitiely too close quarters. I suggest that Dovster move to Florida (at a reasonable distance from his brother-in-law) so that he's away from all this mischagoss.

Thanks a lot, Monitor! Then he'll be closer to Traveller and me!
