Uh, excuse me, but I don't see "how weird is that?" equating to "a weird guy she once dated".

I am certain that one or two people consider it weird that Michelle Pfeiffer is strongly attacted to me, but that does not mean she is a weird woman.

Actually, he wasn't "weird" at all--well at least no weirder than Dovster. ;)

On another note, my very favorite slippers came from the Conrad in Singapore. They are smaller and softer than the regular Hilton slippers and actually fit me perfectly.

Talk about damning the guy with faint praise!

Don't try to confuse the issue with semantics....:p.

With this post, # 1240, Platbrownguy was the first to acknowledge being there for the Meet:

We are now on post # 1566. Is that a record for a Meet thread continuing after the Meet has ended?

I think you meant to say “Is that a compact disc for a Meet thread continuing after the Meet has ended?”, Dovster.

My CD arrived today, unscathed by Israeli Customs. I was particularly impressed by KLC having put three of the pictures on the front of the CD itself, but sorely disappointed that she came close to ruining it by including Canarsie's image.

Be that as it may, I enjoyed watching it immensely and am about to take some of the pictures and include them in my screensaver.

Thanks, KLC!

My package of masks arrived last Friday. Just in the nick of time - some of them will be Christmas presents!

Apparently my package of glassware arrived today, I can't wait to go home and see it! But I'm a little puzzled. The glass factory told me that the shipment would come COD and I would have to provide a check to the shipper for duty of 5% of the value. This was delivered to a UPS Store where I have a box, so I understood that I would have to give the store a check made out to the (unknown) shipper, presumably in Euros, since that was the currency of the purchase. I thought I would have to give the check to the store to give to the shipper before the shipper would deliver. So I had asked my bank how long it would take to get a check or money order in Euros. Think that would be a week or more....... Maybe shipper forgot to collect, or maybe UPS Store paid them and put the duty on my bill.

I'm just happy it arrived, will have an art exhibit @ my house any time next year my flyertalk friends are in town and when you can catch me @ home!

Our masks showed up about a week ago, Was going to hand carry them but they were so fragile and delicate that I thought they may not get back undamaged. Cost 40 or so Euros to Fed-Ex them home but it was worth it.
The small amount of glass we bought came back in our carry-on. But we didn’t single-handedly revive the Murano economy like another FT’er I know.....;).

Cholula,

Who could you be referring to? It must have been someone bought a lot after I left.

By the way, I got a lovely Christmas card from Italy. It was signed by 57 people that I don't remember meeting. :p

Dovster,

Glad you got your CD. I forgot about it till now, so since KLC is my co-worker, she's going to put mine in inter-company mail.

Glad it arrived without problems - the post office clerk wasn't really certain if we needed to include a customs form or not!

KLC did such a fabulous job on the C.D. The pictures on the cover make it look so professional.

I don't have any Murano glass or masks being shipped to me, but am still waiting for some slightly used clothing left at the Ai Mori, which was not packed by a certain Southern gentleman who shall go unnamed. :(

Murano glass alert

KLC Great job on the CDs. Absolutely wonderful.

Dorlee, I'm so sorry I didn't think to check your room to see if you left something lovely behind. Or give my address to Marco just in case. :) If you left those darling Taryn Rose shoes behind I could fly back to pick them up ...

POINT OF THE POST: Murano glass is quite dear, and they say collectible. I was scrounging TJ Maxx tonight and saw a large, heavy, Murano glass statue of a woman in the style of the Mexican Katrina's for, WHOA, TJ Maxx price $279, normally $699. Sitting right there next to the orange sworfdfish with the broken sword (no price sticker) and a non-Murano ceramic dog dish for $4.99. Go figure.

Anyway, it's nice to be able to recognize certain heavy glass works that are Murano no matter where you are. (Not the lovely delicate things we saw, Dorlee.)
