Hey everyone, I'm a 24 yr old student based in Frankfurt, Germany. I've been passively reading flyertalk for a couple years now and finally decided that it's time to take a more active role myself.

My travel is mainly restricted to Europe which is why its pretty hard for me to rack up status miles. Luckily, Lufthansa had the 30 segments for FTL promotion this year which I easily achieved. My goal for next year is to become Star Gold somewhere.

I enjoy flyertalk mainly for the trip reports, the travel buzz forum and the travel products section. Thanks everyone for this great forum!

Hello

I've been lurking for about 4 months and enjoy reading the different FT forums. I'm 49, for the next few weeks anyway. I'm spending the big 5-0 & Christmas in Roma~my favorite city in the world. This will be my 1st ever solo intl trip.
I LOVE travel but have been sidelined due to a chronic pain condition which makes flying difficult unless my UG goes through & even w/ that it's hard on me. (I usually get UG on either inbound/outbound but never both) My upcoming trip is most likely my last intl trip so here's to hoping my UG to F from C (actually Z) goes through on 12/31 homebound, but doubt it will.
I have traveled since I was 7 y/o my father was in USAF. I lived in Germany 4 years 10-14 y/o and spoke fluent German altho I can barely say hello now. I am blessed to have seen many wonderful things/places and to have met some incredible people throughout my life.
I've been to EU Turkey Caribbean all over US..Dream trip would be Australia. My favorite job was as a blackjack/roulette dealer at Lake Tahoe & Vegas. I'm married to a non traveler~No children :( owned by 2 German Shepherds and a cat :) Wishing you all safe travels.

Hello all. I am Texas based and have flown in and out of DFW for over 30 years. I have looked at this site for some time now before deciding to join.

I am a database consultant and give lectures to corporations in north America.

I also took up golf 5 years ago and travel by either land or air and play as much as my wife will allow. ;)

travelingmel Dec 12, 2010 1:25 pm

Hello FT's,
Long time lurker that has just joined. Full time traveler based at IAH for about 6 years now. This site has been great to me and I feel that I may have learned a little in the past 6 years to be able to contribute something now and then. :)

Redheadpeter Dec 13, 2010 11:14 am

New member. In the UK. Like travel (obviously) - generally prefer not to fly but often unavoidable. I would rather drive from here to Syria (again) than fly to New York. But still.
Retired. My partner will retire in about a year. Just beginning to think about a 12 month round the world trip after she has retired. So looking for info etc.

sjeon89 Dec 13, 2010 11:07 pm

Hello... I'm just a guy who likes to share AND gain valuable information on this amazing online community... I mainly travel from SFO-DEN-SFO on UA and if you ever see a young looking guy wearing a tie/suit, that is probably me..

English happens to be my 2nd language, but I understand 100% as I have lived in the US for a long time..with exceptions of some abbreviations on FlyerTalk haha.

Here is my FlightMemory..

Have a nice day/night to you all.

Hello everyone!

My name is Kathleen. I live in Southern CA. My daughter and I are planning a 17 day trip to London, Paris, and Rome. April 14- May 1.

I have never been, and my daughter is 13 now, so she is old enough to appreciate the experience.

I have been scouring the travel sites, trying to find a decent fare and some unusual experiences to have. I am excited to have found this forum!

Krikor721 Dec 20, 2010 5:23 pm

I'm going to need some help.

My name is Krikor. I am Armenian, born in Lebanon. I have lived in the states since I was 2 yrs. old. I am married and have 2 kids. I've spent 27 of my 45 years in Salt Lake City, UT where I have lots of family. I am an Air Traffic Controller. I live in Spring, TX northwest of Houston. I love traveling, especially flying because it gets you to your destinantion much quicker than driving. The major issue with flying for me is that it's not as affordable as I would like it to be, especially when I have to buy 4 tickets. Hopefully with this forum I will learn how to take advantage of my home airline (Continental/United) and travel more often and go to more exotic locations with my family.

IBJanky Dec 21, 2010 8:34 pm

Hi guys!

My name is Michael and I live in So. California. (Long Beach, CA to be exact).

I'm 30 year old, and have been working as a motorcycle police officer for the past 5 years.

Besides trying out food and new places to eat, my other passion is traveling. I have been fortunate enough that I've been able to do a little bit of traveling over the past few years.

This is my first post here, and I'm glad to have found this forum. Hope to be able to learn from the travel "pros" and maybe one day be able to give some advice.

Fly primarily B6, used to be on CO, havent flown them in almost 18 months.

Everydog Dec 31, 2010 2:35 pm

Hi, I was born in the USA but lived in Asia and Africa, with short stints in Europe.

Many thanks to everyone who unknowingly gave me such good advice over the years I was just a lurker here.

bipbip Jan 1, 2011 7:48 am

Quick Intro

Just want to say hello and happy new year to everyone.

I've visited the forum off and on for several years, often finding very useful tidbits. For various reasons, I was a reader not a writer on the forums - and this is my very first post. A huge, huge thanks goes out to all of you for your shared wisdom and experiences. Seriously, I appreciate it. Maybe this year I'll start posting now and then to give back to the group.

I'm from the US but have lived in Europe (Italy and Germany) for over a decade. I was previously AZ FA (ST Elite+) for several years. I'm currently LH Sen (*A Gold) although that's about to expire since I'm currently traveling a bit less annually than I did there for a few years.

I probably won't be able to reach AZ FA or LH Sen this year, so I'm considering other options for 2011. Mostly likely, I'm going to go for *A Gold on either Aegean or Asiana for the easier qualification. I'm leaning toward Asiana but haven't quite decided yet.

Anyway, nice to meet you all. See you on the forums!

Hi Everydog - I've been a lurker on the forums too, but thinking of being more active. Maybe I'll see you around!

Happy New Year! Just joined after lurking for the past 5+ years. A little slow here in Charlotte, North Carolina USA. FlyerTalk is amazing and a wealth of information.
Anyways, I never traveled much and never had status until 5+ years ago. Since then, I maintain Chairmans on US Air and Platinum on Delta due to the travels to Europe and Asia for work - I am an accountant specializing in tax for a US based conglomerate.
I look forward to meeting everyone on the road. Safe travels.

Hi

Only just started recently on this forum, still got lots to catch up on, I am sure 2011 will be the most rewarding with all the advice and help on offer.

45yo from Scotland, mostly travel within the UK on business and further a field for vacation.

classmum Jan 2, 2011 6:48 pm

While going through my old Conde Nast magazines came across the great article on Flyertalk and had to sign up. My family and I travel from Calgary Alberta to Victoria BC about 6 times a year but am hoping I can find some way for the points to add up.

branman1986 Jan 3, 2011 7:05 am

Hey everybody! My name's Brandon and I found out about this site thru a bunch of FF's on the wineberserker forum.

I live in Atlanta and my company merged with a company in Houston, so I'm basically flying like a consultant between Houston and Atlanta for the next six months playing a transitional role and I want to max out my Delta FF miles & Marriott points. I can fly out of Houston to anywhere I want(doesn't have to be ATL) basically for less than $500, so I'm planning on hitting up Napa & Vegas a fair amount. Thanks and I look forward to exploring the forums.

Brad in Seattle

Hi All,

I'm Brad, 26 residing in Seattle.

I fell upon FT thanks to fellow FT Pat with lots of numbers ;)

I met Pat on a flight from ORD to SEA and she encouraged me to check out FT. I lurked for a while and finally figured I might as well contribute (or at least keep the guru's busy with ?s)

I time road-races and triathlons and travel mostly for work, although did my first MR in Dec. and planning on more in 2011.
