Happily done, cigarman!

cigarman: I've received an email on your behalf indicating your desire to attend. If you wish me to include you as a definite, please post on this thread again and let me know your flight arrival times so that we can co-ordinate airport pickups. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
Unfortunately, as shareholder has already mentioned Sat, Jul 22 is currently sold out at Le Centre Sheraton. Consequently, the Fri Jul 21 rate has risen to $179 CAD ($119 USD), while the Sun, Jul 23 rate remains unchanged at $119 CAD ($79 USD). http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif I hope at least some of you were able to lower your rates! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif [This message has been edited by flyme2 (edited 07-13-2000).] |

Do I need to fear this premex or feed them (cigars)??? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Flyme2, cigarman is a frequent guest on a nationally syndicated radio show on cigars. I can't dance (i hear punki can) I can't sing, but I know my cigars!!! Please e-mail schedule. I don't want to boat (too heavy, both me and the boat!) Wine and cheese, YES. DRINKS, BIG YES!!! How about a smoker Friday Night? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

cigarman: You're not really Howard Stern, are you? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
The exact scheduling of events is being tweaked as we speak to better accomodate most of the definites. What I can reveal is that Friday will be pick up at the airport and orientation tour event We'll all meet for drinks, gab and wait for the latecomers to arrive. That will be followed by drinks, gab and then a nightcap. Saturday's jet boat tour departs at 10:00 AM. So we'll all have gotten a good hour's sleep. Thank goodness for the drenching we'll consider our wakeup call. The rest is TS! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif |
Some hotels that are still showing availability Jul 21-24:
Wyndham has a Click it! Weekend rate available for only $103 CAD ($69 USD) per night. You can use Expedia or Travelocity to get this rate. The Renaissance Parc has AAA rates from $143 CAD ($95 USD). The Delta Centre-Ville has rates starting at $135 CAD ($90 USD). |
I am sorry to say that me (and my kilt) will not be there for dinner.
The movers come to pack me up on the 24th, and my life would not be worth a Canadian nickel if I failed to share the misery of packing day with my belovèd. I shall be with you in spirit, however. |
AC*SE: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif A shame, but understandable.
For our American friends, that Canadian plugged nickel would mean your life wouldn't be worth $0.03 USD. I think you'd better continue packing! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif We'll toast both you and AC in your absence. |
< http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif>I must also regretably add my name to the list of non-attendees. I had really hoped to be able to make it, but it just won't happen. I'm sure a great time will be had by all. Enjoy!

flyme2, you've got mail.
I forgot to tell you, I booked the Sheraton for Friday, and am moving to my original (minus 2 days) reservation at the Marriott for Saturday and Sunday. Now don't anyone else cancel! We've only got one week to go! Linda |
Well, I dare say a few of us are going to be on tenderhooks for the next week as Air Canada's pilots promise to impose the ulitmate irony: the first FAQ in our country, and many of us may not be able to get there because our national airline will have a strike called on it.
Although I am confirmed on CP metal for all my FF ticket, I have one segment on the return between YYZ and YEG that is AC. So like BB, who is flying AC metal all the way from YYC, it looks like Wednesday or Thursday will be the make-or-break day. For obvious reasons, I would certainly take the chance and come out for the weekend, but if I must cancel at the very last minute, flyme2, send the dinner tab to Ray Hall of the AC pilots' union. (Seriously, if this should happen, I will cover the cost of the dinner noshow. But let's keep positive in all this, so at this time next week, I'll be watching you guys go out on the river!) |
Let's all hope that if AC does go on strike, they will be able to find all those left stranded an alternate means of getting to their destination in a timely fashion. All the majors such as AA, CO, US, DL, NW have flights to YUL (UA codeshares with AC, so forget them). CP will not be on strike, but capacity will surely be bursting at the seams. If memory serves, the last time AC pilots walked off the job, passengers were also re-routed on VIA Rail.
Keeping our fingers crossed! |
