Brigitte and I spent a lovely evening watching the fireworks last night. Australia was the competitor and they put on a fantastic display. Conditions were perfect. Rain earlier in the day had subsided by afternoon, and the balmy temperature brought out many enthusiastic pyrotechnic afficionados. The finale was spectacular.

BTW, a word of advice that Brigitte suggested I mention. As Old Montréal has streets comprised mainly of original cobblestones, the ladies in our entourage at the FAQ would be well advised to wear flat heels. It's just more comfortable and less treacherous.
Those of us taking the jet boat expedition are also advised to bring a change of clothing and a towel. Wear something that you don't mind getting wet and change into something better (and dryer) afterwards.

I was able to use the threat of an AC strike to get my company's UA-loving travel agency (OK, UA gives us a discount) to not book me on the UA-AC codeshare, but instead route my entire trip on DL! (The FAQ is on the front-end of a business trip).

And DL promptly upgraded all 6 segments.

Now that I've used the threat for my own selfish purposes, let's hope there is no strike!
