If you have not done so yet, please add your name to the events you will be attending in the wiki on the home page. This will help to make sure everything goes as smooth as possible.

Arrival and departure info would also be helpful with car pooling an option for some.
I don't have rights to edit wiki, so please add me to the following events. BBQ and State Fair.

Based on the number of bottles I put in the recycle bin this morning, I am positive that we did not list many bottles that were consumed.

There was a Rimarts opened to celebrate the engagement on Jazon & Mary.

If hotel is not yet locked down for Denali, there is one BOGO in the coupon book. McKinley Chalet Resort is $198.95/night according to their website. I assume we check in on 29AUG and check out on 31 AUG.

For those who need their own rental cars for before/after the official DO events, PM me and I'll see what I can arrange through my, er, connections.
Thanks for the detailed info. Booked B&B months ago, finally booked air today, definitely need car 7/3 -7/7. PM pending.

He will most likely land at Elmendorf. That has been the pattern for recent Presidential visits. Most of us will be in DUT while he is in town, so we will miss most of it. I have been here where others have come up and it can be a mess. President Reagan landed at TSAIA and his getting into town made the blocked roads a real struggle getting around. That was the time he went to Fairbanks and met with the Pope. I can only imagine the traffic snarls then.

He is apparently staying at the Captain Cook, so expect downtown to be a mess. A family member who works nearby received word that their office may be closed while he's here as it's inside the security perimeter.

We'll stay far from downtown on Monday night, don't worry. Those booking hotels for Monday night might want to consider doing the same, unless you really want a chance at spotting the prez.

I'll be at Inlet Tower so maybe I'll see the prez. I guess I won't be able to get the presidental suite at the capitan cook this trip after all
