Here's a link to newbierunners main Heartland and Kakoiya Post (The Thursday and Friday Night venues): http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/20422729-post684.html

It might be useful if the link was placed in the wiki for each as there is more information than in post #1.

Only six glasses? What is wrong with you. I managed more than that in predeparture beverages ex SYD.

Six == *atleast* one on each flight. Yup that's how many flights in taking between SYD and NRT. Looking forward to seeing you in NRT, everywhere.

I will be looking for specific car/sat reservations Thursday morning.

Any suggestions on where to target?

Asama 509/530 will depart from/arrive back at platform 22 at Tokyo. Here's a plan of the station in PDF. Don't worry, there'll be signs in English!

As you will see in some of the photos, seats can be turned around to face the direction of travel or for 4/6 people to sit face to face.

Yes. It would have been nicer if it was First on the A333 but I can't complain. I don't think there was a single empty seat on this flight.

I plan to reorganise my posts about various venues and how to get there (incorporating tips from mjm and others) in the next couple of days so they can be linked from post #1.

I appreciate the pictoral update to get me to Hamarikyu Gardens and the boat launch for the Sumida River trip. ^

I'll be at Tsukiji in the morning, though not at 4AM, and take it there's no way to cross over from the market into the garden except to backtrack to the Conrad and go through the park entrance you posted, correct? I weighed showing up for the tuna auction but have decided to sleep in and arrive a few hours ahead of our 10:15 meeting and see a little of Tsukiji and Hamarikyu Garens before meeting up with my fellow FTers. As am staying until 4th April if the spirit moves me I can always go to the tuna auction another morning.

Currently on my rather unglamorous positioning Greyhound to begin my journey to Asia. It's only an hour and the legroom is still better than some regionals I've been on.
