There is a waitlist for each event that has a capacity control which is sold out (only Perry's at the moment). If you select the event and are placed on the waitlist, you will have that spot on the waitlist reserved but you will not be charged for any event you're not confirmed to attend. If we either expand the number of people who can attend or if we have someone who is confirmed cancel their reservation, the next person on the waitlist will be cleared.
