Well, I'm assuming you'll earn miles for your flight to AUS, and you'll earn some hotel points wherever you choose to stay. But aside from that, all I've got for you is a handshake and a welcome to Austin. :)

And you collect the credit card miles if you have that kind of card.

Will there be a way to see who is signed up for what?

I have a reporting interface built to show that sort of information to Pa Kettle and I, but I don't plan to expose that to the general public. Is there something specific you're looking for?

Hey Sharon, as Bob noted, the $180.50 includes dinner at Perry's (which is currently sold out). If you do everything prepaid except that, it's $90.50.

There is a waitlist for each event that has a capacity control which is sold out (only Perry's at the moment). If you select the event and are placed on the waitlist, you will have that spot on the waitlist reserved but you will not be charged for any event you're not confirmed to attend. If we either expand the number of people who can attend or if we have someone who is confirmed cancel their reservation, the next person on the waitlist will be cleared. When that happens, I will send a link to that person to go to the website and pay for that event.

So, for the too long, didn't read crowd: yes, there is a waitlist. No, you will not need to transfer funds between people or anything else. I've built that in so you'll only pay for things you're confirmed to attend. :)

Pardon the blonde moment (and no offense to other blondes!), but I think we're talking two different things here.

If I register today (except for Perry's) & am confirmed, I'll be charged the $90.50 today. If I registered but was on the waitlist I wouldn't get charged until I cleared. At least that's how I'm interpreting the sign-up process.

I can register today, pay the $90.50 & have every hope of making a truly fabulous event, but what if bizness intervenes & then I need to cancel. Does the $90.50 get refunded, and then the person on the waitlist gets charged when s/he is confirmed, or do I need to sort it out where I get told who's on the waitlist & contact them to arrange for them to reimburse me, or am I just out the $90.50?

Cheers.

Hehe, no worries. And you actually have a pretty good grasp on how things work. If you pay for an event and thus have confirmed space, but need to cancel before the cut off date, we will refund the money you paid and the space will go to the next person on the waitlist, if any. That person would then pay for that spot at that event. :)

Signed up, tickets bought, good to go. ^

Very much looking forward to my first visit to TX (not counting airports, obviously :D).

Perry's sold out very quickly. Just curious if a couple of my friends made the list is all.

Went through AUS a couple of weekends ago. Very nice place. Lots of interesting (mostly local it seemed) eateries offering plenty of options and the Admiral's Club has a very friendly staff. I look forward to going back.^^

For Franklin BBQ on Thursday I see that the arrival time is 11:30. Sorry I haven't read all 21 pages of this thread, but have we made special arrangements with Franklin? If not I think the arrival time should be an hour earlier to ensure that we get in before they sell out.

For out of towners, Franklin is not to be missed. Moist brisket FTW!

I have a feeling we'll be there closer to 11AM. And we're on a Thursday, not a Saturday, and based on Pa Kettle's conversations with Franklin, they should have the new pit rolling well by then and not subject to such a narrow window of operations.

Edit to add: if you can only do one of either Franklin or Salt Lick, choose Franklin. It's an order of magnitude better IMO. Salt Lick really doesn't do it for me, franklinly.

;)
