^^ Thanks in advance for all the great organization

You bet, but I would be remiss in not noting the stalwart contributions of Pa Kettle. This simply would not be without him. We also had lots of input from many of our friends here in town. This whole thing is about bringing everyone together to have a good time (and eat meat), so I'm thrilled to be part of it. :)

Gaze upon how screwed we are, ye mighty, and despair.

Enter: The Round Rock Location.

Thankfully, the Round Rock location is still available on that day and we have locked that reservation. There are caveats, though, like the 60 person capacity limit (the Driftwood location limit was 80). On the upside, the overall cost is lower ($35 per person instead of $43) and it is not in a dry county so they offer a full bar. Some days you eat the bear, and some days the bear takes a nap on your face.

At the end of the day, we're still having Salt Lick BBQ on Sunday for lunch. :)

We are working feverishly (read: not that feverishly) to tie up all loose ends and open registration on Friday. While that remains the goal, we'll see what actually happens. :)

If we are in Round Rock, can I count on someone to make sure to remind me to save room for a few Round Rock Doughnuts?

We're expecting somewhere between 65 and 85. My wife keeps telling me that there will be more, but we'll see. I don't have specifics in front of me but I believe the hotel is at or near sold out for Thursday night, but a few rooms remain for the other nights. Due to concurrent events, we're unlikely to get more rooms, so it is what it is. There are lots of other hotels in the area if you find one is sold out, and it is my hope that everyone will coordinate and carpool or otherwise manage to make it to the Aloft for the bus if that is your locomotion method of choice.

Add a +1 from me to thank all you organizers for all the hard work.

From all the data we have at the moment, I think we are expecting 35 folks on Thursday with about half that number attending the Perry's fine-dining experience. I expect things to pick up on Friday with another 35 - 40 folks joining us then and possibly as many as 100 on Saturday. On Sunday, I suspect some folks will have planes to catch, so the volume will attrition down to 60. Not many have chosen to stay Sunday evening, regardless.

As far as the Aloft is concerned, we have just about booked out all of our allottment and since they are hosting two other large groups that same weekend, we aren't likely to get any more rooms there at the group price, so what is left is it. Anyone is free to avail themselves of the Westin or any other hotel in the area at whatever the going price is once the Aloft rooms are gone. The bus, however, will be leaving from the parking lot north of the Aloft in the Domain. There is plenty of free parking there.

Thanks for the udpate (and for managing our expectations realistically w/r/t when the registration is expected to open ;) )! An even bigger thank you to all of you who are contributing your efforts (and appetites) to getting this pulled together for us!

Fare Alert

Looks like I jumped the gun. Low fares weren't available. Next time I'll check first before posting.

ALL IN

All in. $180.50 if you select everything that can be prepaid. Most are pay as you go.

I'm really glad to see that the LBJ library has been added. Do they have puppies that we can pick up by their ears? :D

Now, if AS will play nice with a fare sale.................

I'm guessing that $180 includes the Thurs dinner? Not everyone will be able to arrive in time for that.

One question I have is - will there be a waiting list & is the registration transferable? I'd like to attend & can sign up now, but if for some reason (ie, bizness) I couldn't make it, could I transfer my registration to someone on the waiting list? They would reimburse me for the fees I paid, and that would be done between us. The only thing the organizers would need to know is that instead of SkiAdcock it would be XX.

Cheers.

Yes, that includes dinner at Perry's.

I'm in. Where do I sign up to get miles for attending?

Hey Sharon, as Bob noted, the $180.50 includes dinner at Perry's (which is currently sold out). If you do everything prepaid except that, it's $90.50.

There is a waitlist for each event that has a capacity control which is sold out (only Perry's at the moment). If you select the event and are placed on the waitlist, you will have that spot on the waitlist reserved but you will not be charged for any event you're not confirmed to attend. If we either expand the number of people who can attend or if we have someone who is confirmed cancel their reservation, the next person on the waitlist will be cleared. When that happens, I will send a link to that person to go to the website and pay for that event.

So, for the too long, didn't read crowd: yes, there is a waitlist. No, you will not need to transfer funds between people or anything else. I've built that in so you'll only pay for things you're confirmed to attend. :)
