One can park there, however, free of charge. ;)

Hehe, parking on it is free, parking under it is not. :D

When I first hit the reg link 15 mins ago, there was one spot on the bus left. Damn hotel ethernet cable kept falling out and now I'm waitlisted. :( Not worried, but still...

Thanks to the organizers and sponsors!

=====

PS - At which Amy's location is the factory?

Yeah, you hosed all kinds of things up. ;) I sorted it all out for you.

And the factory is at the factory; I don't believe they have a retail store there.

You're welcome... I mean, THANKS! :p

The Amy's wiki doesn't even mention the factory. Can you give me it's general location for my Google map please?!

Well, just a few short days after opening registration for the 2012 Austin Mega Do, the dinner at Perry's is sold out and has a waitlist started, and the bus transportation is completely full with a waitlist started. The other events that have capacity controls, especially the tour of Amy's Ice Creams and the final lunch at Salt Lick have only two or three spots left. If you've been waiting to register....don't. :D

Edit: Oh, and the hotel block is full too.

Any chance of more rooms opening up at the Hotel? So far cannot find alt
hotels close by. Wonder if I rent a car can I leave it at the Aloft for free while taking part in the events. With the aloft full where else have people been booking.

The Westin is very close but much more expensive. There is a parking lot next to the Aloft with free parking, so catching the bus should no problem.

The aloft was still available with C+P yesterday.
It showed not available for Saturday,
but both Fri only and Fri-Sat res was bookable.
Of course it may have changed.

edit: indeed, not avail on C+P now.

Unlikely, but if so, it will be catch as catch can. Folks sometimes cancel their plans and most of the time, this cancelled availability ends up in sell status. It won't end up in our block, however, so whatever price they set should it reappear is what it is.

As BOB W says, there is plentiful free parking all around the Aloft, so no problem there.

Now that I'm back from vacation & have a secure connection... I'm signed up for Friday + Snow's on Saturday morning. WL for Salt Lick on Sunday. Looking forward to it!

Seems I have found myself booked to AUS, and have signed up for most that is avail. Hoping for clearing a couple waitlists too. Can't wait!

Would love to come over to this, but with most of the events being over subscribed I think I'll wait until 2013.... 'tis a long way to come and an expensive flight if there are no cancellations!

This DO is held every other year, so the next one would be 'tentatively' scheduled for 2014!;)

As mnmag noted, we do this once every other year (due to the inordinate amount of planning that goes on). But I think it is wise to hold off on coming from DXB as there are several folks on waiting lists now and the only event that we're going to be able to expand is the dinner at Perry's, and even that's not guaranteed yet.
