I replied over at milepoint as well, but the fine dining event signup will be part of the general registration.

Plenty of free parking both in an uncovered lot and a parking garage across the street from the hotel. This hotel is at The Domain in Austin, big shopping mall/restaurant district so parking is not an issue thankfully.

Cool!

It is an interesting place and when this Do was announced I booked reward nights at the Westin on the theory that this was likely to be a two hotel event.

I am still debating whether to stay at the Westin which is a really first rate hotel or to move over to the Aloft at the favorable rate. I also have forgotten exactly where the Aloft is in relation to the Westin and the maps do not help that much so I need some input from the locals.

I have not however forgotten exactly where Specs is located. :D

The Westin is literally 150 yards from the Aloft. No issue at all with staying at either property and participating in the events.

I'm hitting the line in the morning as soon as I drop the daughter off at school. I can "work" from my iPhone. :)

Anyone wants to meet up, I'll be the guy in the lime green shirt!

So I am trying to book a room at the Aloft using the provided link on the Austin Mego DO 2012 web site. When I get to the step to log in using my SPG username and password, the site won't log in. It just refreshes and asks me to log in again. Anyone else having the same problem? I've tried using Firefox and IE.

Just go to spg.com and sign in. Then make your reservation directly from there.

Tried that already, too. No rooms available.

Are you putting the code in the right box? Read up the thread, it doesn't go in the promo code box...
