I saw this just in time!

Count me and tjtenor4 as strong maybes (as long as his parents don't have something else planned for the evening about which I'm not aware at this point)

Will be good to meet some of the DC-area FT people (though at least some of the names I see are transplants, like me!)

I am sitting at the bar in a blue polo. Don't recognize anyone here yet.

You're the second SAT transplant that I know of (FT related) ... welcome and hope to see you at an HH sometime.

So I'm trying to plan another trip to D.C. (with a sidetrip to Anapolis, quite possibly) and am searching for a weekend where temperatures are neither unbearably hot nor miserably cold. I've come up with October 8-11, which has the added benefit of a public holiday (in Canada, anyway) on Monday.

If there is any interest and FTers are in town, I'd be very open to meet both familiar and new faces in one way or the other during my time in town. Let me know, planning is still pretty flexible....

We're always up for Annapolis as it's 10 minutes from us. Otherwise throw us on the list for the DC portion.

airoli,

Your weekend is the same at United States Sailing Show in Annapolis. I encourage you to go the show, but getting a restaurant reservation may be tough (My guess is that Monday would be the easiest day).

Thanks for the heads-up on Anapolis! I'd planned on driving out there on the Monday, and then return straight to the airport (BWI or IAD) from there. So no dinner reservation needed...

airoli:

Columbus Day weekend (also a US holiday weekend) is generally a good itme to visit DC. Though I'm likely to be in IST for szg's birthday bash, I am sure there will be plenty of DC-area FTers around who'd be happy to meet up for lunch or dinner while you're here. When your plans are definite, post your availability and preferences (i.e., time and place) to the thread. Folks will generally respond with their own availability. When you pick a restaurant and time, I'll post it as a confirmed event on page 1 of the thread.

Any interest in a Happy Hour on Monday July 19 or Wednesday, July 21?

With the extended pay-for-parking hours in DC, I'm inclined to choose something in VA. We've done lots in Clarendon recently, how about something in Pentagon City? We could start at Zen Bistro and Wine Bar ($3 beer, $4 sangria and selected glasses of wine from 5pm to 7pm) and migrate to a restaurant -- Lebanese Taverna, Ristorante Murali, Noodles & Co., or Sine Irish Pub come to mind as possibilities -- if the mood strikes.
