is this where the awful Greek place used to be?
If I run early & the orange line isn't insane, I'll try to drop by to meet you all for a beer--I'll be on my way to Lyon Hall (which I recommend for a future get-together) for dinner.

oops sorry didn't know there were criteria/conditions for suggesting a place. Are they in previous years' threads?

... the only criteria is that the people attending need to want to go there. If the reviews are so-so, chances are there are other places that would be selected over that. It's not like there is a dearth of restaurants in this area to choose from Editorial comment: I have zero clue as to the restaurant mentioned or it's reviews and since it's not been suggested before for a meet that I planned on attending, I'll be keeping it that way for a while longer

(The bulk of our regulars are from NoVA [half to 2/3] and DC [1/4 to 1/3], though we do have a few hardy Marylanders who show up regularly, too.) Seriously, in suggesting locations, it's been my practice to try to alternate between NoVA and DC (we've not had great luck with turnout when we've tried things in suburban MD, but I'd be willing to try again if there was a positive response). For weekday events, I try to find things that are easily accessible by Metro. On weekends, I'm willing to look farther afield. Other than during Restaurant Weeks, when we try to secure reservations at some of the top area restaurants for the specially priced offerings, I try to find something with a mid-level or below price point. Unless I can secure a reservation, I try to suggest meeting Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday as those days tend to be less busy than Thursdays and Fridays. It's helpful to pick a spot with a varied menu so that all potential attendees can find something they'd like to eat.
As the post at the top of the thread says, we welcome all suggestions. If others don't offer suggestions, our FT HH & Dinners will likely be at some place I've heard about -- and I don't hear about everything. As is said, variety is the spice of life. The more input DC-area locals offer, the happier my tastebuds will be.

I was able to make a reservation for a party of 10 at 6:45 pm today, so if you can get there by that time, that would be great. I understand that I earlier said dinner would be at 7:00 pm, so if you can't get there until 7:00, I understand. I decided that with a party of 10, we might have to wait a long time for tables to open up without a reservation.

I was in Denver for work and I arrived back at DCA tonight too late for this dinner. Hope everyone had fun and I will take a raincheck for next time.

I knew there was a reason I didn't buy theatre tickets for this Friday.
Count me in for drinks at Harry's.
