Please note ....
As many of you know, GoingAway and other DC-area locals will be hosting the DC Do the weekend of May 7. Registration has closed, but we'd like to extend an open invitation to locals and others who might be in town to join us for dinner and drinks on Friday, May 7.
We'll be meeting around 6:30 pm at Capitol City Brewing Company, 1100 New York Ave., NW. The entrance is at the corner of 11th and H Street (a couple of blocks from Metro Center). It will be a pay as you go event. All are welcome.
Please join us and show the out-of-town FTers how friendly DC can be.

As mentioned up-thread, Bundy Bear, who some of you might know from Oz Fest or SIN Do, is going to be visiting the US from Down Under in mid-June and is interested in meeting some of the DC locals. I'd propose a Happy Hour and Dinner on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, with happy hour beginning at 6:15 pm or so and dinner around 7:00 pm.
Bundy Bear won't have a car, so the venue needs to be Metro-accessible. I'd suggest a location either in NoVA - along the Orange line corridor between Rosslyn and Clarendon/Courthouse or on the Yellow/Blue lines in Pentagon City or Crystal City - or in DC's Penn Quarter. Any suggestions/preferences? Hope many of you can make it.

Unfortunately, I'll not be in town then. However, if you propose a time and place and get at least four confirmed attendees, I'll be happy to list the event on the calendar on page 1 of the thread.

(Pennsylvania Avenue, 3rd-6th NW) or dinner?
Also, I was thinking of going to hear the music of Chinary Ung at the Freer at
1930 on Thursday (you queue for free tickets at 1830).

I'll be visiting DC that weekend, staying at the Willard. Could do either afternoon drinks around the street event or light dinner elsewhere in the city. I am sure violist will no longer have the sniffles he had when we last shared a flight between ORD and EWR.

It was cardiac insufficiency lung fluid cough, not contagious
(should have pointed that out, sorry). Sort of fixed now but
coming back slowly.

For Bundy Bear's visit on Wednesday, June 16, I'm currently considering Boulevard Woodgrill, Eventide Restaurant, Restaurant 3, and Sette Bello. Any preference among these, or any additional suggestions?
