We'll be meeting around 6:30 pm at Capitol City Brewing Company, 1100 New York Ave., NW. The entrance is at the corner of 11th and H Street (a couple of blocks from Metro Center). It will be a pay as you go event. All are welcome.

Please join us and show the out-of-town FTers how friendly DC can be.
We look forward to seeing anyone who can attend at the Capitol City Brewery Friday Evening .... as a reminder, all OTHER events for the DC-DO weekend required pre-registration, so if you haven't registered for other events, please do not assume you can be a walk-in and be accomodated.

Thanks!!

As mentioned up-thread, Bundy Bear, who some of you might know from Oz Fest or SIN Do, is going to be visiting the US from Down Under in mid-June and is interested in meeting some of the DC locals. I'd propose a Happy Hour and Dinner on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, with happy hour beginning at 6:15 pm or so and dinner around 7:00 pm.

Bundy Bear won't have a car, so the venue needs to be Metro-accessible. I'd suggest a location either in NoVA - along the Orange line corridor between Rosslyn and Clarendon/Courthouse or on the Yellow/Blue lines in Pentagon City or Crystal City - or in DC's Penn Quarter. Any suggestions/preferences? Hope many of you can make it.

Unfortunately, I'll not be in town then. However, if you propose a time and place and get at least four confirmed attendees, I'll be happy to list the event on the calendar on page 1 of the thread.

I was about to send you a note ... your July dates will hopefully work, but I won't be available in May. Enjoy the IC

I'm going to try to make this (need to meet him now) ... my preference as always is along the orange line, the closer to the beltway the better

I'm around the 20th to 25th or so - want to meet Saturday for the Asia Street Fair
(Pennsylvania Avenue, 3rd-6th NW) or dinner?

Also, I was thinking of going to hear the music of Chinary Ung at the Freer at
1930 on Thursday (you queue for free tickets at 1830).

I'll be visiting DC that weekend, staying at the Willard. Could do either afternoon drinks around the street event or light dinner elsewhere in the city. I am sure violist will no longer have the sniffles he had when we last shared a flight between ORD and EWR.

It was cardiac insufficiency lung fluid cough, not contagious
(should have pointed that out, sorry). Sort of fixed now but
coming back slowly.

Wednesdays are, in general, not good for me but, for future reference on places to try along the Orange Line corridor, I am still hearing good things about Eventide and would like to try it for some future event.

For Bundy Bear's visit on Wednesday, June 16, I'm currently considering Boulevard Woodgrill, Eventide Restaurant, Restaurant 3, and Sette Bello. Any preference among these, or any additional suggestions?

My vote is for Woodgrill or Sette Bello (both of which I've been to) since I probably can't make the 16th.

Any would be fine but here's my vote:

First Choice - 3 Bar and Grill
Second - Eventide
Third - Woodgrill
Fourth - Sette Bello

I'll try to keep that in mind, but when we're scheduling an event with out-of-town visitors in mind, it is their schedule that will necessarily control.
