and high-ranking congressmen and senatorr(or anyone
responsible for the sequestration are going to get free

Ill say this, the day they get contract reductions from all of the federal public service unions, they deserve new cars, even GM cars.

Sheep don't need no facts and can't do math. @:-)
That's a 6.2% increase in clerks, in one year, to handle a 1.5% increase in traffic. This doesn't account for the massive increases in the rest of the system.
Now they purport the world coming to an end because they might have to live without 2,600 of clerks (0.4%) that they want to hire this FY.

even if they let all 48000 employees go, I'm sure they won't reduce the salary savings in the budget. they'll just find another way to use the extra money to fund some ridiculous project.
my company laid off a bunch of employees, which was supposed to save 2.5 million over two year. three months later, all the executive restrooms were equipped with Toto automatic toilets. 47 units of Toto's top of the line model that will make any Japanese executive red with envy(exact quote from the contractor who was installing them). Tell me what's wrong with that?

Yesterday a friend with a non usa passport arrived gva - jfk. He set a timer and it took him 2 hours and 20 minutes to get to the cbp agent. Sequester staffing shortage?

big delays at Tom Bradley
Flew LH out of Tom Bradley terminal Saturday. It took over 1 hour to get through security. Theres a priority lane but they wouldn't allow star gold customers to use it (unless holding a business class or better ticket. The surly agents clearly were engaging in a slowdown - making various snide remarks about how we better get used to this kind of treatment in the sequester. Instead of a nice relaxing wait in the lounge it was a mad dash to the gate with no time to spare. What do we pay all those ridiculous tax and security fees in the price of a ticket for?

No - it has taken me way more than that before, months ago, both in JFK and Dulles. Not Sequester, just general inefficiency.

While it's not TSA, the border crossing into Point Roberts, WA was experiencing a slowdown in the NEXUS lane as the CBP agents were checking the trunks of every car going through.
Work to rule? Credible threat resulting in increased security? I have no way of knowing, but I've never seen them taking that much time with NEXUS cardholders before.

I was interested to see the pre-check TSO at ORD standing and waiting for 'customers' for 15 minutes at a time or more - literally just standing around bored, while the elite queue had a wait time of about 45 minutes. (TSA wait times continue to shock me even though I am generally permitted to use elite queues, compared to my usual 0-10 minutes wait elsewhere)
