Another annoyance with the fact that the Edit credit gets clawed back if you cancel and rebook. If the price of a hotel drops…you can cancel, but you need to wait for the clawback (seemingly 3 days) to rebook. So you risk that the price could go up while you wait for the clawback so you can rebook.

I cancelled my Bellagio booking yesterday and rebooked within the next 30 minutes because the price went down for 2 nights.. are you saying I will not getting the $250 credit after it gets clawed back for the first cancellatrion?

You have to wait for the credit to be shown as eligible again.

experience is if it actually happened to you. DPs are hearsay. and even then, like i said before, i fully expect chase to do the right thing even if you rebook before the clawback, and it seems they do

What happens to my $250 credit if I cancel and rebook my EDIT reservation due to a price drop? : r/ChaseSapphire

Pleased to announce, yes! For my situation, the impatient part of me reached out to a CSR on Friday, who then escalated for manual review and stated I should see the credit return within the next 3-5 days. I checked again Saturday, and to my surprise, it already re-posted. Uncertain if/when it would have came back without my escalation, but happy to report we can cancel and rebook if needed ...although I imagine this would need to be done within the same credit cycle.
i have also seen other DPs

Yes I saw a few DPs where the $250 credit shows back up after few days of rebooking.

I can be the next DP when it shows up. I canceled my EDIT stay and rebooked before the -$250 was clawback. Currently the old EDIT is refunded, but -$250 is till there. The new EDIT is pending. I wonder if the new booking showed up before the $250 credit was clawback, would it just stay or it will be gone and come back in a few days. Or I would have to call to get it back. It's going to be fun for the next few days LOL.

Interesting, haven't run into Chase ever clawing back anything regardless of circumstances like Amex. Guess this credit is too big to ignore the potential shenanigans.

Yeah it's not non-refundable, just paid full amount at the time of booking. I just refunded my Bellagio booking after learning that the trip is actually $100 more because they will still charge me resort fee at the hotel. I made the same post at reddit and from other replies, it seems that everyone who stayed at Cosmopolitan or Bellagio so far was charged resort fee at check in. There are some DPs that it was not charged at MGM Grand and Aria. So I am going to switch it to Aria or MGM Grand.

I have seen DPs that Bellagio handles it correctly.

You mean, Bellagio doesn't charge the resort fee of $50 per day? I am staying early next week..

They charge a $50 resort fee, which is paid when you book through Chase, not at the time of checkout.

I got some conflicting reports from various places online and it looks like the ultimate tell
is under "price details" on the portal just before you click "add to trip". I checked a few on the Edit/eligible list and they all included the resort fees as a line item before the total. Nonetheless, I'd definitely have a screen shot at the ready as Vegas hotels are notorious for "forgetting" you've already paid.

Give it another day and it will be done!
