I expect a lot of people will be cancelling after year one if they are unable to find decent deals using these benefits, which are key to offsetting the outrageous AFs.

that’s nice for you but i don’t have time to waste posting screen shots every time I see a price discrepancy. Admittedly it is not often as I consider TheEdit a waste of my time. as with lounges, Chase is playing catch up and seems to do only the minimum necessary.

You are certainly welcome to have your own opinion. However, your conclusion that a lot of people will be cancelling their card because of "outrageous AF" and Chase Edit hotels always priced higher than either Amex or the hotel directly is not supported by facts.

You don't need to post a screen shot every time you see a price discrepancy, but I have yet to see any from you.

https://www.kimptonmaalaibangkok.com

There is no difference, Kimpton just hides fees until the checkout screen. You'd think it's 16,053 THB per night = 496 USD, for a total of 1488 USD for 3 nights. Except, it isn't. There's some extra fees and the actual total at checkout is 1592 USD, which is the same as Chase with some slight currency discrepancy.

With the member discount, the Kimpton rate goes down to 1513 USD for 3 nights. One always has to consider whether the member discount for booking direct outweighs the benefits of the consortium program rates priced at BAR. Obviously the math will differ based on elite status, length of stay, etc.

Interesting that you see all these discrepancies but will not share just one single example with folks here as it would be a waste of your time. But apparently, taking the time to post here multiple times is not a waste of time, even though just posting an example would have made any subsequent posts unnecessary and would surely have taken less time overall.

Chase EDIT $250 credit - Cancellations, claw back and credit back success.

I got $250 credit for a Las Vegas (Belllagio) booking a few weeks back. The price changed and I cancelled booking resulting in claw back on Nov 10. After that I made multiple bookings and cancellations some on same day as price dropped for 2 nights. I did NOT wait for the $250 credit available meter to show up on my account. But eventually the $250 credit posted back on my account on Nov 13.

Appreciate the DP on this.

so are you saying you can cancel and immediately rebook and the credit will be reapplied? This would be helpful, if the rate goes down as you suggest.

I have a stay where the rate went down by 10 dollars, but didn’t cancel and rebook because i figured if I waited 2 days to rebook the rate might be higher. If you had it work this way though id rebook for the small savings

Interesting that you care so much about my data points when anyone can go online and confirm the same within 5 minutes (after wading through the stupid requirement to login to bank accounts, 2FA etc which is idiotic just to check hotel pricing). The Edit is one of the biggest scams out there and I will continue to drag it every chance I get.

Somewhat tricky wording, but hopefully y'all get the gist. Curious about the same re the FHR credit if anybody's answering and knows...

Getting the $250 Edit credit and also the FHR $300 credit from Amex Plat requires prepaying for the stay at the time of booking with your eligible card. So the card you use for check in/out is irrelevant with regard to getting these credits. For FHR you do also need to show an Amex cards at check in to get the FHR benefits.

Does anyone know if this Chase offer (spend $600 get $100 back for Chase Travel bookings) stacks with The Edit bookings? That starts to make somewhat pricier stays more reasonable. Even on a $1000 2 night stay, -$250 for The Edit credit, another -$100 from this, and $100 property credit results in a net $275 per night

I was able to use mine with an edit booking to get the $250 + $100 back

This must be a targeted offer. I don't see it on my offer pages.

Yes, I received both off the same booking as shown below. And, while you don't get 8x on the $250 taken off for the edit credit, I believe you still get 8x for the $100 taken off from the Chase Travel offer.

Thanks! Makes something that was on the fence pretty palatable

Would just check regularly, I see this one a lot, it disappears and then a new one of the same one appears, I think Chase is trying to really incentivize usage of Chase Travel

Yeah, I booked something I might not normally have wanted to pay for but with the two credits it basically cost the same or less than cheaper options, plus I'll get the credit at the hotel. I basically planned it as a vacation for my vacation where I can spend 2 days in the middle of a 3 week trip to just relax and decompress a little before continuing on.

Do you get $100 back even if you are using Chase UR points for booking? I guess not

You need to charge at least $600 to the card to get the $100 back (and will obviously also get the $250 Edit if that's what you're booking and have not used that credit yet). You can use UR points for the rest of the charge above $600.
