============================================

[/b] 50 + 5k offer for personal card. Requires MileagePlus login; redirects to https://www.theexplorercard.com/50kAFW
  • 50k miles after $3000 spend within first 3 months
  • 5k miles for adding an authorized user
  • No annual fee first year
  • No FTF
  • Each calendar year, you are eligible to receive one 10,000-mile bonus after you reach $25,000 in net purchases on your Card.

For discussion of card benefits, see the master thread in the United forum.
My math says a 50K offer. Where do the extra points come from?
The extra 5000 points come from adding an authorized user after you have been approved for the card.
Is there a business card?
Yes, and Flyertalk has a thread devoted to the business card: United business card: 50k+10k united miles
Can I apply for this card and earn the bonus after doing so previously?

seems a pretty nice deal. I have a question,

so I have get this Chase United Mileage Plus Explorer card back in 2012 Nov and received the bonus in 2012 Dec. Then in 2013 Dec I downgrade it to a no annual fee card called "Chase United Mileage Plus" (no "explorer", so no annual fee, 1 mile per 2 dollar). I still have the card now.

Do you guys think I am eligible for this new offer? I am worried whether I will be considered as current holder of the product (Although technically it should be different product).

Thanks in advance.

However nowadays the applications show up on your report literally instantly, in real time. So AOR has lost its biggest advantage. But old habit dies hard, or the urban myth continues.
Yep, HPs are instant now, so there is no advantage to an AOR anymore. Just apply for each card when it works best for you.

While Chase (and Citi and many other banks) looks at HPs, Barclay doesn't tend to (because they tend to only pull TU which doesn't have much in the way of HPs from other banks). Instead, Barclay tends to look over the credit report and count recent card opens and closes.

So it's still bank-specific as to whether AORs matter or not. If you are intending to apply for a Barclay card, you may be able hide all the account openings from an AOR done hours before you apply for a Barclay card, but on the other hand an AOR done 3 months before you apply for a Barclay card will stand out like a sore thumb.

Bingo. Last May, I applied for the Chase MP Explorer during the first week of the month. Chase pulled Experian. Decided to apply for the Barclays Arrival+ during the last week of May. My first statement for the Explorer hadn't posted yet. Before I applied for the Arrival+, I pulled my TU credit report, and it had no indication whatsoever that I had recently opened the Explorer. I was instantly approved for the Arrival+.

AORs are still feasible if you pay attention to which bureau(s) the banks pull reports from as well as your statement closing dates. As soon as your first statement closes, it's very likely that the account will be listed on all three of your credit reports.

The offer on united page is currently 50+5K through 6/2. No tricks needed (but not $50 credit).
Also t&c seem to specifically call out "this product" in 24 mo limitation so i assume recent business card bonus should not disqualify anyone.

Instant approval for me. Used the link thru the United site. I had the same card back in May of 2012 and closed it in July of 2014.

Currently have 5 other open personal and one business card. 4 HPs in the last 6 months.

the new promotion requires $3000 spend rather than the typical $2000 spend for 50K bonus miles.

True.

I estimate the cost of $1000 spend at $20 (since that's what I would get from loading my Redbird with a Citi Double Cash instead), so getting $50 from it is a good deal.

Did you do a dummy booking and check the offer? If you do you will find the 50K+5K+$50 statement credit.

I just tried this while logged into my United account. After applying, I instantly got the following message:

Offer no longer available.

I last received the new account bonus for this card in Feb 2013 and cancelled one year later when AF posted. I should be eligible to apply.
I currently have 2 Chase Business cards and 3 personal cards. My last Chase app was Feb 2015 for an Ink Plus card.

Anyone else getting the "Offer no longer available" message?

Its churning time. Quick question, to confirm a downgrade to the $0 United card (non premier card) over a year ago still makes me eligible to get the 50,000 bonus? ^ Its been 2 years since I received the card.

Working fine for me? Maybe try calling Chase and seeing what they can do.

Bonus eligibility is based on when you last received the bonus, doesn't matter about when you opened or closed the card. Hope that helps.
