You're right. I just called it a day. The CSP was the last one anyway. I'll just have to do that on my next AOR.

just apply the card via the wiki steps. I did get the 50k offer after 2k spend but want to get the 50k after 1k spend in this thread. The wiki link page doesn't show any wordings about 50K promotion but the SPID is DZ9V and Cell is 606P like other replies. approved right away and called the CSR to confirm the deal. He didn't mention the $50 statement..not sure if it's included. Will do chase SM once receiving the card to find out

followed wiki and worked for me. confirmed through SM about 50,00 + 5,000 miles after $1,000 spending
thanks guys
wiki say spending is $2000 in 3 months, but CS said (through) SM that requirement is $1,000 in 3 months.
"Thank you for contacting Chase regarding your United
MileagePlus® credit card account.
Please be advised that as a first time Explorer cardmember
you are scheduled to receive 50,000 enrollment bonus miles
after you meet a $1,000.00 spend within the first 3 months
of your account open date. You will also receive 5,000
miles for adding an authorized user name to the account
within the same time frame and after your first purchase.
After the first year annual fee waiver the annual fee will
be $95.00.

I wonder if the $50 statement credit is associated with the $2,000 spend requirement and there's no $50 statement credit for the $1,000 spend requirement?
This was the response I got:
"I understand you are inquiring about the application you
submitted in December 2013 for the United MileagePlus®
Explorer credit card and have confirmed that the up to
65,000 bonus miles promotion was offered along with the
first year annual fee waiver sent by invitation only.
Each year thereafter, your card annual fee will be $95.00.
As a reminder, here?s how you earn up to 65,000 bonus
miles:
?You will earn a one-time 50,000 bonus miles after you
spend $2,000.00 in the first three months your account is
open. You will see these bonus miles post to your account
six-to-eight weeks from the date the spending requirement
is met.
?You will earn a one-time 5,000 bonus miles by adding an
authorized user and making your first purchase in the
first three months of opening your account.
?You will earn a one-time $50.00 statement credit after
the first purchase posts to the account. It will appear on
the following statement.
?You also can earn a one-time 10,000 bonus miles when you
spend $25,000.00 or more on your card each calendar year. "

Update to Verification Department Call
I've been sent to the verification dept. twice, both times they asked me a couple simple questions about my employer and when I changed addresses. The verification department is more of an anti-fraud department if they find some issue with your application such as different address than what appears on your credit report etc. Was approved by them both times without having to call again to speak with regular recon.
So they have the power to do an approval, but I don't know what factors go into it and whether I was basically already approved pending the hold.
So they have the power to do an approval, but I don't know what factors go into it and whether I was basically already approved pending the hold.
I called them yesterday. The agent put me on hold for a few minutes to review the application. She then asked me a couple of questions. I couldn't answer all of them because I was in the car driving and can't get to a computer. Here's a sample of the questions:
* What was your total payment for XXXX Credit Card last month?
-told her I couldn't answer since I am in the car and can't access my computer
* What is your total credit line for XXXX Credit Card?
- same thing. can't answer.
* What is your most recent address before your current one?
* Name one of your previous employers.
After that, she approved the application and asked me if they was anything else I needed. I told her that I need to transfer the CL for one of my cards and close that account. She replied that the verification department only deals with new applications so she could not help me but can transfer me. So it looks like they are really just an anti-fraud department and do not do much else.

I found an easier way. I was trying to help my DD with an app. but the 30K banner ad would never appear. So I went ahead and clicked the link here anyway and the correct app appeared on the screen in a new window!! And it was prepopulated with her name!!
Maybe this won't work for others but it worked for her.

My next targets are Chase Ink Plus and Chase UA MileagePlus Explorer card. My goal is to earn award tickets for CGK-NYD & LAX-CGK (each leg will cost 40k miles after Feb). Assuming that I can qualify to get 65k miles from UA MileagePlus, I would still need to transfer points from Chase Ink Plus to qualify for my award tickets. Do you think the Chase UA MP is still worth getting despite a devaluation after Feb?
I'm also open to other credit card alternatives if I can reach my goal faster
I have also thought about applying for an American Express card earning MR then transferring them to Ana. Currently have 14k miles in my Ana account which I don't think is useful as Ana's award ticket rates for international flights are higher than United's.

ANA's award ticket rates are based on distance rather than region, so while they may be higher than UA for some routes, they are substantially lower on others.

I made a last-minute push to hit the "10K miles for $25K spend" bonus on Dec 31. However, although my largest transaction (about $7K) was submitted and processed on Dec 31, I just saw today on the Chase web site that it posted with a date of Jan 1. =( This was despite the fact that it appeared initially as a pending transaction on Dec 31 itself. Does anyone happen to know whether Chase will generally still give the bonus in such circumstances?
I will probably contact their customer support later on, but just wanted to check if anyone here on FT has any advice.
Thanks!

Data Point: Wiki Link is for $1k min spend
After getting the card the other night, I sent a secure message to Chase to confirm the minimum spend and bonus. Just like a few others have noted recently, it looks like the link on the Wiki is for a $1k minimum spend. The SM did not mention anything about a $50 statement credit, though. Here's the relevant excerpt of their reply:
...you will receive 50,000 enrollment miles after $1,000 in
purchases within the first three months, 5,000 bonus miles
for adding an authorized user and the first year annual
fee waiver. In addition, you can earn 10,000 bonus miles
if you spend $25,000 in purchases in any calendar year
(January through December). Once all of the above have
been met you will have received a total of 65,000 miles.

I tried the link but only got the 30k miles offer. If I apply over the phone, would they honor the 50k miles for me?
Also, for the authorized user, did you add one at the time of application or after you have received your card to qualify for the 5k bonus?

Try the steps that worked for philemer on post #2706. If that doesn't work, try the steps that worked for me on post #2705. If that doesn't work and you somehow make it work, please post what you did. Good luck!
