Looks like CX is updating their April and May schedules (can see on their schedule page and from zeroing out of fare buckets on ExpertFlyer). I have several mileage and paid bookings in place, which will all be cancelled based on the latest schedule updates. Several of the bookings I made were speculative to see if I could guess right and if not, just get a refund. However, the one of importance was a HKG-JFK mileage ticket in J. Once the flight is officially cancelled, does anyone know if CX will rebook me in J on another day when they are operating that route? Or will they just say tough luck, here's your mileage and tax refund because award seats aren't available on an alternative flight?

I wonder how many longhaul passengers flights CX currently (March) operates.
I could see two weekly flights to both LAX and JFK
Two weekly to LHR (no pax back).
Possibly a couple of weekly flights to SYD, but they are not available for booking.
That means one longhaul departure per day.

Apparently they had 5 pax from Manilla that tested positive on 13 March arrival.
it would be interesting to know what are the current criteria for flight suspension.
It seemed to be based on how carefully the airline checked documents, rather than the number of positive pax, or both?

1) >=5 passengers are positive on arrival, or
2) >=3 passengers are positive on arrival on two consecutive flights, or
3) >=1 passenger(s) is/are positive on arrival while some other passengers do not have the required documents (test report, hotel reservation, etc.)
To be mentioned, only those passengers who is tested to be a positive patient at the airport are counted into these criteria. Those who are negative on arrival but later positive during the quarantine are exempted. It seems that the government would like to focus more on airlines' accountability.

From my understanding, a flight will be suspended for 14 days if
1) >=5 passengers are positive on arrival, or
2) >=3 passengers are positive on arrival on two consecutive flights, or
3) >=1 passenger(s) is/are positive on arrival while some other passengers do not have the required documents (test report, hotel reservation, etc.)

This explains why EH384 did not get banned in February, despite many positive cases on successive flights during the month.
Actually, I don't think QR ever got banned in 2021.
