So I imagine Air India Express has to check for onward tix and docs (including the PCR/Nucleic Acid test) to final destination, unless they want to attract fines from Malaysia.

Then KA checks again at KUL, before the pax can proceed to HKG. Otherwise KA can toss these pax back at KUL to deal with.
I am opening the discussion of why there are so many +ve arrivals from certain country when a certified lab has to issue a certificate of -test within 72 hours of final leg of flight to HK.

On the same day, there were also 5 positive on AI310 from New Delhi:

Hence, Air India is also banned till 3 October.

From Indian gossips in HK, many indians who gained PR, but now reside in India, are getting back to HK given the awful covid situation in India.
Whether PCR reports can be easily faked in India is everyone's guess. The Hindustan Times article above is interesting...

Seeing this as well. Honeymoon award flights cancelled from JFK-HKG-MLE.

What type of recourse do I have with CX to try and rebook on partner, i.e. Qatar who is flying thru the pandemic with few problems?

I also got an email that my CX899 flight in June 2021just got cancelled. Seems really weird to cancel something 8 months out.

That's so odd they're cancelling so far out...

I was going to book KUL to HKG to YVR for June but might hold off on it now.

IAD HKG might be part of the permanent cuts due to low demand even before the pandemic. JFK is just a short hop away.

KUL HKG and HKG YVR are high demand routes.

They might have just updated their schedule to reflect lower frequency (daily 4X to daily) just before UK lockdown.

Not surprised as Delta couldn't make it work before CX's attempt. DL even had major corporate Pacific NW clients.

SEA is not on CX's radar in the short-term (5yrs) future.

HKG-MLE cancelled on May 26. Should I even bother asking them to change it? It’s an Avios ticket so I suppose I’ll cancel and figure out a different route.
