List of Lounges Currently OPEN to BA Passengers (open wiki for details)

This wiki includes details of open lounges accessible to premium (F/J or Gold/Silver) passengers travelling on BA operated services, either within the terminal BA depart from or accessible via airside transfer.

Other lounges may be accessible for passengers willing to transfer landside to other terminals or concourses, although this is generally not recommended due to time constraints as a result of needing to re-clear security. Additionally, some airports may offer pay-in lounges which are not otherwise accessible by BA premium passengers (either temporarily or permanently).

Most open lounges are operating with a limited food and beverage service, and other services may be unavailable or modified.

For opening hours, please check the oneworld lounge listing at https://www.oneworld.com/airport-lounges?location= which is now being regularly updated.

If your airport isn't listed below, this probably means there is no lounge available for BA premium passengers (either temporarily or permanently) - please check the oneworld listing for the most up-to-date information.

I’m looking for some advice of that’s ok.

I am going to book a 1/2 night break for Jan/Feb. I’ll probably only go for CE one way as I don’t need TPs.

Should I pick

LUX (with CE on outbound flight from LHR)
WAW (with CE on inbound flight to LHR)

I would prefer Warsaw, however I know outstation lounges are still few and far between, whereas they’re always open at LHR. What would you do?

Hi,

To be honest I would pick the destination for the destinations sake rather than worrying about a ( likely third party) lounge with limited facilites that you would spend a max of 2 hrs or so. Lux is interesting but would chose Warsaw all other things being equal.
I went to VCE last Aug and the lack of a lounge at Marco Polo airport did not bother me.
Club inbound might be better ( esp if oyu could get a paid lounge access at LHR)

Regards

Personally given those options I'd fly out club if I was otherwise lounge-less; 3rd party outstation lounges are often available on PP/dragonpass/etc or direct payment (if you need them), assuming they're even open by the time you fly.

if you have lounges due to status I'd do club on the way back - you can be surer of getting something reasonable to eat at Heathrow than on the way back.

Surely you're in the second group??

Warsaw lounge situation isn't great at the moment. Both Fantazja (my favourite) and Bolero (non-Schengen non-StarAlliance) lounges are closed at the moment. Your only option would be Preludium which is rather average with cold food options as far as I know.

If you were flying *A then both Polonez (main LOT lounge) and Mazurek (non-Schengen) are open serving hot food and full bar service, although it's a manned bar now with slow/inexperienced staff.

Warsaw you will get a hot dinner onboard and chance to enjoy the free bar properly. Outbound to LUX seems pointless, it may well be back in T3 by then too and presume you have access via status.

I just noticed my GIB flights on June 26th are ex T3. Any formal news on how long after T3 reopens until the lounge is partially operational?

T3 is currently a designated Red List country arrival terminal. I highly doubt that it will be operational for normal flights any time soon, much less flights to Green list countries!

Come early next year, provided destinations are available to easily travel to/from (ie. open to visitors and quarantine-free both ends), I'd anticipate third party lounge contracts to have been restored - we're certainly seeing that happening now (slowly), even at destinations not on the green list.

According to BAEC over the phone yesterday, the red list arrivals are being separately taken to T3, including those arriving to T5 who are being bussed over, but arrivals and departures are separate, and flights will be going from T3 as normal. It seems that there is more detail than the news headlines, but I must say I share your doubts. (And hope you are correct). HAL have indicated that T3 red arrivals is a temporary measure whilst they get T4 ready for the same purpose. T3 was in the process of being demothballed (if that is a word) and so easier/quicker to get the temporary arrangements in place there. Measure your pinch of salt to suit your own views on that.

Thanks for all the opinions everyone. No I don’t have any status, I was aiming to be Silver in 2020... but that ended badly so I’m just sitting on Blue for now.

The idea of a good breakfast in T5 appeals more than a few stale sandwiches at 7pm in Warsaw. But I do appreciate the flight time for Warsaw is considerably longer and I’ll get a hot meal and a long time to enjoy the bar.

This time last year I booked flights in CE for Xmas expecting everything to be ‘normal’, and of course that didn’t work out and outstation lounges remained closed. That’s why I’m being more thoughtful this time.

Red list arrivals are bussed from T2 or T5 to T3. T3 won't be used for departures until red list arrivals move to T4.

EDI lounge potential re-opening

The lady at check in mentioned June 26 as a date ‘they are looking at’ to reopen the EDI BA lounge.
Here’s hoping for that to be true🤞🏾

Is anyone particularly looking for T3 flights at the moment? Presumably if flights did depart from there at best the BA and maybe AA lounges might open depending on loads, but I don't see the lights coming on for the Cathay/Qantas lounges any time soon and beyond the lounges there's no reason I can think of to prefer it....
