Prêt airside opens tomorrow. Other shops will open in stages from 1 to 6 July but I suspect many outlets will remain closed until there are more people fiying. That would suggest mid July, when AA and possibly AY move into T5.

Have been looking at parking options in the next couple of weeks. Long Stay, Business and Pod at T5 all seem to be unavailable on the official site. Is it possible to just turn up and use Long Stay, does anyone know?

I had the same issue when looking to book for the end of July. Tweeted Heathrow and they said to phone the parking team: 0344 335 1000. Whether or not you can book through them, they didn't say - only that they could advise.

From memory, I think you can just turn up and pay on the gate, but its way more expensive.

At least one of the car parks are in use for other services, Staff parking 2E is a regional COVID test centre. But not heard of any other car parks being reassigned.

It was fine to book about 10 days ago although T5 Long Term seemed outrageously expensive. When I looked on the T2/3 and T4 Long Term they were about half the T5 rate, the T4 rate was cheapest at about £110 for 2 weeks which for LHR seemed very reasonable. Didn't book anything.....BA cancelled my flight the day after I booked it

Having said that, with T4 being closed it might be a bit risky to park even if still available to book as there are probably no shuttle buses running so it might be a bit of long wait

POD Parking and T5 Business Parking are both closed - only T5 Long Stay and Short Stay are open.

Pod would be impossible to socially distance I guess relating to different households and the Business Parking uses very small minibuses.

Have just tried looking at a random date early July on the 4th to the 18th and T5 shows zero Long Term availability, only Short Term at £227. However T2 Long Term is available at £108 for 2 weeks....which still seems very cheap for LHR.

Is T5 Long-Term already full for July, even with around 50% of BA flights running?

T5 long term is also shut due to COVID, they are telling prebooked customers it will be moved to short stay, along with the POD.

Presumably this means new T5 bookings are at the Short-Term rates only now...if pax want to save around £100 over 2 weeks they have to allow another 30-ish minutes and go to T2 Long-Term and take the HEX round to T5. Worth knowing though...

Experiences through LHR T5?

I have to fly to NCE in a couple of days time for work and am wondering if anyone has any recent experiences of T5 and what it’s like on the ground? Obviously no lounges are open, but keen to know what security, border control etc is like.

When demand requires it - at the moment, there aren’t the passenger volumes to justify (or require) it.

At T5 today for BA344. Very busy boarding process and no social distancing taking place. Boarding from front to back which seems to have caused some confusion amongst pax. Everyone in masks, but no markings at the gate so loads of people close together.
