Having passed through T2, MUC, VIE, FRA last week, there were no lounges open anywhere, but I was jst happy to be flying again . A friedn of mine tells me that HKG lounge is open- or rather a HKG lounge is open (he is Star Alliance Elite). My next BA flight is 16 July.....would be nice to have lounge access, but I'm also perfectly happy to buy a sarnie from WH Smith and plonk myself onto a seat somewhere.

There are most definitely lounges open in FRA and MUC last week (and continue to be open this week) - I used both of them multiple times. In fact, I posted more information here: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/32462768-post24.html

Let's see how this goes. I've never sat in the non-lounge section before #firstworldissues
It must be like sitting in a shopping centre. How awful 😳
Can’t say it would appeal to me but then I’d also forgotten how much plane there is behind the curtain!

How are the lines at LHR? I was wondering how soon before my flight I should get there as it seems there is not much to 'experience' at LHR at the moment except wait for the plane!

It has taken me between 3 and 6 minutes to get through security. Now one gets used to LHR being fairly slick but the problem is that if they are running 2 channels (with alternate tray points open) and if someone turns up who appears not to have flown since the introduction of the liquids ban 12 years ago, it can slow things down disproportionately. So personally I think 1 hour is still sufficient, but there is an anecdote elsewhere of someone held up for longer than my experiences.

HAL is opening more channels next week, and more still the following week.

I stand corrected- and am now annoyed at myself . The Senator lounge in the Z part of the Terminal where the LHR flight leaves from was definitely shut, but I guess I should have looked in other parts

Ditto MUC.

This is what happens when you are out of practice with flying

I would have thought that BA would have sent out a targeted update, either to shiny card holders, or to everyone who is due to fly in the coming weeks, to remind them that things aren't normal and that, critically, some of the time-saving features of travelling in a premium cabin or as a card-holder aren't available, so passengers don't turn up with an hour to gate closed and then end up getting stressed.

Weird side note about Lounges/ BA's IT being it's normal self.

We have a US trip end of August (yes it's risky but it's been booked for ages and we remain 'fingers crossed' about it) that's now on it's third rebooking and ever since the 1st rebook both the OB from LHR and the final leg JFK-LHR are both telling us we're using the CCR. As Silvers travelling in J we'll be highly appreciative of this We've been through 2 different booking refs and the route has changed all over the US & the lounge upgrade is still showing. At this point, and with all the hassle we've been through, then im tempted to put my foot down regarding it if it still shows in the booking come day( s) of travel.

(( For any unable to appreciate the fact - Yes I am pretty sure it's BA's IT being as slack & glitchy as normal)

Someone mentioned that lounges outside LHR won't open 'till August.

I'm flying from GLA next week and am bracing myself sit at the gate prior to departure. To make matters worse BA are using the loco pier at GLA now...

Some here might say that this is where they belong on short-haul anyway
