Last Thursday I was travelling with my two sons. I didn't receive any email in advance about lounge access. After checking in my bag at TFW, the check in agent (unprompted) said "We're very busy today, so you'll need to use the South Security".

As others have found, the additional access benefits do seem variable.

We are going to Asia next year from LHR T5 with BA. My wife is on a separate booking in F and me and the 3 children are in WTP and I am BA Gold. I know my wife can access CCR and take a guest. And I can take 1 guest, but since we have 3 children I cannot go to the F lounge.

My question is, if my wife do not want to use the CCR Can she give the access to me? And can I then bring in one child together with me? Or she can only bring me in as a guest and then exit CCR immediately to take the children? We have booked a dayroom in a hotel close to LHR.

You shouldn't def. be guesting anyone one by one..
I think the slickest way is your wife takes one kid as guest to first lounge.. You take one kid as a guest to first.. And together you convince the lady to take the third as well.

As things stand, there isn't any alternative but to select the kid you most dislike and leaving them outside the lounges. You can get a party of 4 into Galleries First, for example. If one child is under 2 years old then that doesn't count for guesting purposes. Your wife can't transfer her lounge access either, but she doesn't have to use CCR.

Thank you for the replies I have been to First lounge many times, also my children. But I have only been to CCR a few times, so I want to prioritize going there.

Ok, from the answers I see the following. We arrive LHR and exit airport. I bring the children to the hotel and my wife use First Wing and then go to CCR alone. I come back a few hours later and go through Fast Track with children. My wife then guests me in to the CCR and then exit same time to take the children a short while before our departure. Is this doable? Or I am not allowed to be in CCR without my wife who is guesting?

You would be pushing your luck if it was an immediate handover but Flounge wouldn't be a problem.

Only one guest in Fast Track too, but it could be the First Wing.

Can you exit the CCR by going out the «secret door» Or is that only for entry?

I thought of using the business class fast track with my 3 children? That would be ok?

One guest in Fast Track, at the risk of repetition.

Guesting and then leaving happens all the time, but doing it immediately isn't a good look, I would suggest, particularly from CCR. The so-called Millionaire's Door can be used in both directions.

What do u mean by... Take the children a shirt time? To where?
Hang with them at the airport? Or do you want to Tr to guest each one separately in the ccr? Which is violating the rules and I am pretty sure they will know, she already has a guest inside?
Just saying to inform you. The guest rule is per one guest for the flight. You are not allowed to xchange guests even tho only 1 at a time might be in the ccr alas guesting 1 after 1...😜🥃

Sorry if I was unclear. I have booked a hotel room near LHR and I will bring the children there for a few hours to relax before going back to the airport. My wife will stay in the CCR during this time. We almost never fly F so we think it is a waiste not to use this opportunity. I never said anything about violating the rules or exchanging guests. Only thing I asked if my wife could guest me in when we return to airport and then a bit later exit the CCR.

And I also misunderstood you CWS when you said Fast Track. I thought you meant First Wing Fast Track which I know is 1 only. I thought that I could bring more guests (children) through the normal fast track lane

I understand you now.. And would def wanna spend as much time possible in the ccr.. And yes. I don't think anyone really cares if your wife leaves later.
And if I were her.. I would take the kids through the first wing. Don't see anyone turning down the kids if she is friendly and smiles with her f ticket..
Better f wing then fast track.

^ But it will be me who take the children through Fast Track a few hours later. My wife is blue member, but flying F so she can use the First Wing alone instead of using the flight connections security.

Since I am BA gold I have access to First Wing, but as CWS says, there is a rule with 1 guest only. But no harm to try my luck

Really looking forward to the trip in F on the A380 to Asia. Got a good price of 1200£ in C to Asia and W back to Oslo. Upgraded the outbound to F with Avios

How old are your children?

You will not be allowed to enter the CCR without your wife being physically there to guest you in.

BTW it is not a simple process to leave airside and get back to landside. BA have to change your 'ready to fly status' so you can get back airside again and they escort you out on a once per hour basis.

We are all flying to LHR from OSL and the to Asia so we need to do the security again anyway at LHR, either by using Flight Connections or exit the airport and use First Wing security again. That will cause no problem with ready to fly status? When we all exit, I bring all the children to the hotel and my wife goes airside through First Wing and to CCR alone.

A few hours later I bring the children airside through the normal security lane (since I cannot use fast track) The children are quite old, so they can be alone for a while, that is no problem. I can leave them downstairs by the escelator to the lounges on some chairs there while I go to the CCR where my wife can guest me in. She can than later leave and go downstairs to the children. That is a good plan?

Slightly better than some of the other ideas above, though though only you can answer the question as to whether it is worth it.

But let me give you another, since you've spent quite a lot of money on the tickets and hotels (etc) so far. Why not book the Plaza Premium lounge for the whole family - not Aspire - and use that instead? It's not CCR but it is quite a good lounge overall, and has good views on to the apron, and you can all stick together, go off shopping together or separately. It can be booked in advance, they don't take Priority Pass, I think some Amex cards work to give free entry.
