Club Europe Catering Guide 2017.
This thread outlines the new arrangements for Club Europe catering, introduced on Sunday 26 March 2017 and due to end on Tuesday 11 September 2018, based on 3 zones. A new Club Europe catering product is due to be launch on Wednesday 12 September 2018, and this is based on 4 bands. The main information piece - in terms of timings and the distance zones for the meals can be found in post 1. The following cross references the photos below against the matrix of options. In addition to the photos, some FTers have written extensively on their experiences so there is more to this thread than the pictures. Also note that there was an increase in food offered on some combinations shortly after the start-up, so the more recent photos may be the best place to start.The previous shorthaul catering guide, now locked but which had the previous 4 band system, is to be found here.
Numbers relate to the post number. Vegetarian means the alternative option provided as standard rather than the pre-ordered versions - which are VLML (Lacto-ovo), AVML (Asia) and VGML (Vegan) . There are differences between the offering in/out of LHR, LGW, LCY+STN. Last update: 833

No it is not for real, it's a mock-up.
So maybe best to wait another 12 days, when I'm sure tasting notes and photos from what is served on board will swiftly be posted in this forum.
I am kind of reminded of my photo of the new CCR sofa that I took, which ended up on numerous websites. The opinion that was framed, as you may recall, was that it was clear evidence of the CCR being turned into a shabby retirement home for the tasteless and colour blind. OK, I paraphrase but not by very much. Fortunately that impression didn't stick, and most people were very happy with the CCR makeover.
So maybe best to wait another 12 days, when I'm sure tasting notes and photos from what is served on board will swiftly be posted in this forum.

My understanding from those who work in catering is that of course the caterer makes a difference, but in the end of the day, the biggest determinant of a good meal is the budget that the caterer is given to work with. SQ and the Middle Eastern airlines are known for larger budgets per meal, especially in the upper cabins.

Well, the new Club Europe catering has been confirmed and the rumours are true.
The official press release is here.
"From September 12* the airline will introduce new menus with improved recipes and signature warm breads. There’s also a commitment to provenance, with dishes developed around key British ingredients. Launch options will include shaved Herefordshire roast beef on a tartar cream with rocket, British Reared Pork sausage and mash and a celebration of British chesses.
On the airline’s longer short haul flights to destinations such as Faro, customers will now have the choice of two hot options and one cold. Menus on flights to and from Heathrow will also be changed twice a month, rather than monthly.
As well as enhanced food, the airline will also be refining the beverages on offer, with new wines served in quarter bottles and coffee provided by British speciality roaster, Union Hand-Roasted coffee."
There are 11 photos in total and some of them are above. Looks just fine to me!
I'm still wondering whether the Panini is gone or not.

“Refining” is the new “Enhancing”! I’m waiting to see the details. My main concern about the photos is that however pretty (but then from experience, press release photos of new meals always are) some of the servings look pretty much as small as now. So if it’s merely a case of replacing panini by quiches and finger sandwiches by open face ones, it won’t help much. I really hope that the suggestion of full meals returning to band 3 will be confirmed.

Interesting to see that they refer to Faro as a 'longer' flight as it was Band 3 not Band 4 in the previous system? Promising for those hoping for a decent meal on those borderline Medium/Long flights

It was nice and a pleasant surprise as I wasn’t sure what the catering would be like.
I forgot to mention desert was ice cream tubs brought round afterwards. Strawberry or vanilla. Not sure if they had chocolate and ran out. I was in Row 3
