Club Europe Catering Guide 2017.
This thread outlines the new arrangements for Club Europe catering, introduced on Sunday 26 March 2017 and due to end on Tuesday 11 September 2018, based on 3 zones. A new Club Europe catering product is due to be launch on Wednesday 12 September 2018, and this is based on 4 bands. The main information piece - in terms of timings and the distance zones for the meals can be found in post 1. The following cross references the photos below against the matrix of options. In addition to the photos, some FTers have written extensively on their experiences so there is more to this thread than the pictures. Also note that there was an increase in food offered on some combinations shortly after the start-up, so the more recent photos may be the best place to start.The previous shorthaul catering guide, now locked but which had the previous 4 band system, is to be found here.
Numbers relate to the post number. Vegetarian means the alternative option provided as standard rather than the pre-ordered versions - which are VLML (Lacto-ovo), AVML (Asia) and VGML (Vegan) . There are differences between the offering in/out of LHR, LGW, LCY+STN. Last update: 833

The onboard vegetarian breakfast is different from the pre-ordered vegetarian meal. If you would actually be OK with full English I wouldn't order. If you are in the first few rows then again you should be fine. If you really don't like bacon and sausage and you are in the rear section of CE then you best pre-order (and eat up in the lounge).
On my last 6 flights the pre-ordered CE vegetarian meal was exactly the same as the second (non-English breakfast) offered on board.

My most recent medium band offering was three tiny blobs of mozzarella accompanied by three slices of tomato. I was in row 3 and was told by cabin crew that they had run out of panini (no apology). Passenger behind me asked to buy from BoB. Embarrassing all round. The BA medium band CE catering is the worst intra European business class catering I have experienced. Even SAS' sorry excuse of C class has better food.

Flying LHR-WAW this week and we are a little tired of the chicken tikka and fish pie. Has anyone recently ordered a Kosher meal on a LHR outbound long flight, and if so, what did it yield? My partner currently has one on order but is not keen on fish!

MAD-LHR BA461 on the 777. Prawns were pretty dry and tastless but the salad was good. The chicken and pasta and the cheesecake were very good. Apparently the beef wasn't available and replaced by the chicken tikka option. Is this the new long option or still medium? Seems pretty similar to a HEL meal i had earlier in the year. If it was the long one was served pretty well by the crew on a packed CE cabin with first used too.

Early morning LGW-FAO. Breakfast choice between a full english (including omelette) or an omelette. Pretty poor if you don‘t like eggs, like me. Croissants weren‘t loaded so I could have bread and jam. When choices are offered, they really should be more diverse than that. 12 rows of CE also meant service was really slow with 90 minutes between first and second drinks runs. Only 2 crew in CE, which I thought was not enough for 48 pax. The crew agreed with me and advised me to help them by complaining, but I‘ve had enough crap responses in the past to not be bothered with that.

Both breakfast meals on the regular rotation are egg dishes and have been for some time, asian vegetarian gets you a nice lentil curry

Think we must’ve been on the same flight ☝🏼 But MAD-LHR newly banded lond sector prawn salad and chicken lobster pappardelle. Same as above, was listed beef but offered chicken tikka or the above. However I did see some pax getting the beef.

l had pre-ordered the vegan breakfast but ended up switching to the vegetarian option instead. It was on the slightly greasy side but not too bad. Definetly treated better than it looks. I was aiming for something on the lighter side but... the vegan option that had been loaded for me was a channa masala which was not going to sit well on my stomach. CE had very few people in it and I think only two of us went for breakfast.
On both of my BA flights, the meal was brought out to me while wrapped to approve and l was asked if it was acceptable. I found service to be excellent on both of my BA flights. I'm usually flying SAS back and forth from Denmark to England and it's a shame I've not flown BA on this route given how empty the cabin has been and the standard of service. I'm guessing this is not the norm on other routes? Granted, coming off SAS, I'm pretty happy just to have a decent cup of tea and real cutlery instead of that awful Cube and a bread roll tossed on a naked tray table.
So, they may have successfully converted me. Ha.

I agree. If this mythical Club Europe catering review ever materialises they must address this. Recently I've heard the onboard announcement change from 'complimentary meal and drinks from the bar' too 'a snack and drinks from the bar'. The catering on medium routes is a joke.

Scrambled eggs, sausage, mushrooms, cherry tomato (which squirted hot juices across the aisle when poked with a fork!), two rashers of bacon, and bubble and squeak, with a fairly generous fruit plate, butter, marmalade and bakery basket pass offering croissants, toast and bread rolls.

Salad with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, chicken katsu curry with jasmine rice (not as dry as it looks as there was plenty of sauce hiding under the chicken), and chocolate mousse cake with raspberry coulis. The alternative meal choice was grilled Atlantic cod with paprika gnocchi and a baby spinach garlic cream sauce. Both options were substantial and tasty.
