Agreed. The 767 is a faster aircraft then the A319 too, 4:35 for an A319 on this route, westbound, looks way off.

Around 5 hours sounds more like it.

Does anyone know if the BA665 will be operating in October 2015? (winter schedule) it would be ideal for a same day regional connection.

It's Summer schedule till 24 Oct 2015, and the 664/665 is booking into October, so until 24 October looks likely.

From the Winter schedule, I doubt the timetable will retain the x13 weekly to LHR and x5 weekly to LCA. But who knows.

However.... the 664/5 doesn't operate on Saturdays, so the last day you can be sure of booking the 665 (with the connection to NCL) will be Friday 23 October (until they release the W15/6 timetable).

Great timing for BA to add capacity, I can't see CY lasting the winter...

CY sounds like it won't be around for long if reports are true. Add to this the EU decision which is imminent.

Just been advised of a time change on my bookings on the new BA664/5.

Looks like it is going out an hour earlier. The new 1445 departure out of LCA is useful for onward connections from LHR.

The new 0700 departure out of LHR is mighty early.

On the subject of Larnaca can I just mention the food "enhancements" in the Larnaca Lounge.

The Cypriots seem to have misunderstood the BA definition and have actually widened the choice and improved the quality.

The pizza and chicken nuggets?

The salads are quite decent too - greek salad, coleslaw, potato salad, olives, pickled vegetables.

Last weekend the nuggets had morphed into wings! And there were other new morsels too.

I'd just had lunch in Larnaca marina so wasn't hungry but it all looked good and in the current BA environment of anti-passenger pro-shareholder mania it was a pleasant surprise.

Last night there was a bountiful selection of food - lots of hot buffet items (including nuggets), the usual sandwiches, but definitely an enhanced selection of cold salads.

The desserts also featured some new items - some mini puddings of some kind in pots, carrot cake, as well as profiteroles.

Lovely place.

Great crew on the 663 (as usual).

For anyone familiar with the woes of Cyprus Airways (or indeed Cypriot aviation on general), it should be no surprise that a cost saving exercise in their branded lounge turns into a cost creating exercise.

As an aside, I along with a colleague once bumped into Theo Paphitis in said lounge, who without going into details was an important target for our business at the time and who we had met previously briefly. We were dressed in what I can only describe as "travelling tracksuits", which led to a rather embarrassing and understandably curtailed (by him) encounter.

It's a Swissport Lounge, not a CY Lounge, and I imagine BA is one of the biggest users of it, if not the biggest user.

I'm flying to LGW - LCA this Friday in economy.

Has anyone had recent experience of the food on this trip? It's an 8am start so I'm wondering if it's worth having a full breakfast at Gatwick before take off?

The galleries no doubt has the usual carb fest with fruit.
