I'm flying on Friday and waited T-72 for the front 5 rows to open - and ONE seat became available.

I know the grey mafia hit Cyprus in September when all the kids are safely back at school but this is ridiculous!
Well we are 80 in CE on the 663 today. 84 coming out apparently. Every seat in both cabins taken. It's been the same for weeks now, and will only get worse (better for BA?) when CY pull out in a couple of weeks.

They must have a widebody they can spare for a few hours?

I wonder if BA are regretting re configuring the Short haul 767 with fewer CE seats?

Oh my. Cheapest LHR-LCA fare for next week (out Mon, back Fri) is a staggering £1442 return (J only).

Even going Friday-Friday, with the Saturday night stop, no R class in sight, and still the same £1442 return.

Next Friday's LCA-LHR is full and sold out in all classes and no movement on the wait list. Only a few seats on the LCA-LGW flight that gets in at 2am (and is frequently an hour delayed).

Looks like we are seeing the effects of CY's withdrawal from LHR and immindent self-combustion.

You could do

LHR-IST-AMM-LCA on BA/RJ/RJ for £2000

Or LHR-DME-LCA on BA/S7 for similar pricing.

There's probably some non oneworld options too but I didn't look

Oh my indeed. Just checked and there's a grand total of 8 seats available next week. 1 on Wed 2 on Tue and 5 on Mon. All in J. Double yikes.

Do BA ever use wide body frames on shorthaul routes when the demand is so out of kilter with supply?

Or is the shortage of wide body frames too extreme to countenance it?

The switch to Stansted is on 14 Sep, but when I looked the last flight I could find was tomorrow, and back to LCA on Saturday.

I once had a 777 on the GLA-LHR route. Club to London was nice, but brief

And the very last CY flight will be not too far away.

It looks like CY will be taken over A3.

That makes a lot more sense.

If I may post a link to another source, http://centreforaviation.com/analysi...porates-185925
