The latest version (2010) of the First cabin (termed "Prime" internally by British Airways, or "New First") is available on all 4-class 777s and all 747s.

An newer evolution (2013) of the First seat (Prime+) is found on all A380s, and a newer version still (2015) is available on all 787-9s.

The older version of the First cabin (termed "Classic" internally by British Airways, or "Old First") has now been withdrawn.

747 information updated to 31 March 2016. Last change: withdrawal of G-BNLF, the last OF aircraft

I enjoyed New F on a 777 DFW-LHR last Wednesday, not least since I was op-upped from CW (itself an MFU). I should probably have bought a lottery ticket the same day.

Was this BA192 on 16/6? If so that was G-VIIW which confirms my theory that BA has now refitted G-VIIU (the first 777), G-VIIV and G-VIIW (which I believe went back into service around 6/1). G-VIIX went back into service 12/6 which I suspect too was fitted with NF bringing the total Triple Sevens with NF to 4. That makes the odds of getting NF 22.22% on a 14 F Seat 777 based at LHR (4 of 18). G-VIIY has been at CWL since 13/6 (so should be back in service around 25/6 if it is now in for an NF refit). Our odds of NF on a 14 F Seat 777 are getting better every two weeks!

So based this post, do you really think I’ll have about a 1 in 4 chance of flying in NF on LHR-NBO in mid-July?

Check the seat layout in Manage My Booking and see if you are on a 777 with 14 seats in First. If so, you have a 22% chance. If it has 13 or 17 seats in First, you have no chance.

I would love some expert speculation about when the conversion of the 747 fleet will begin and end as well. Is it absolutely definite that they will wait until every 777 is completed?

If they are converting the 747 fleet, why wait until all 777s have been completed? Would it not be better just to refit when they go to CWL for maintenance, as with 777s?

How much more life has the 747 fleet got? I guess if planes are nearing retirement they won't get re-fitted.

Maybe I've missed it on here, but has anyone posted any pictures of the 747 New F cabin? I'm sure thats of most interest for FTers what with 2A being the best seat in the fleet...

Did they end up putting that "fire place" as was seen in the computer generated images? Can you spot a New F 747 like the New F 777s? What are the middle twin seats like? Is there a closet at the front anymore?.....

Thanks. I wasn’t sure if the destination (NBO, in this case) had any bearing on the decision to use a 777 with NF. I am flying on a 14-seater, so keep my fingers crossed with my 22% shot. ^

Yes, that was the flight ~ which I hope helps confirm your theory.
