My next HighLife [if I can reach it in 63B] will be annotated. ^

What are the current rules? Front cover or Map?

I remember to do it, but I keep forgetting my pen :[

Never seen a FT scribble myself, but have been flying much less this year.

Rules

In post 1 I said map page, but it wont do any harm to put www.flyertalk.com on the cover i suppose.

I keep putting mine on for each flight but we are not as numerous as are transatlantic brethren, so I suppose hits will always be very sporadic. In much the same way as I have a yellow FT label on my rollaboard, which has not yet resulted in anybody saying "Hi", even though they posted on the thread that they had seen me in GF in T5 chatting to somebody - a person I had hosted in.

Did LHR-DUS last week and marked up all the magazines so now just sitting and waiting.

When I used to bump it, comments about horse, dead, flog were mentioned. To be fair the start of this year for the game were "challenging conditions", seeing snow disruption one month followed by strike disruption and then volcano disruption. You could easily lose heart.

I hadn't seen this and will now start playing...

...although quite how many other FT'ers sit with me towards the back of the aircraft is another matter entirely!

I do wonder how much fuel we would save by not printing and carting all that Highlife rubbish around for months on end. They are heavy and they are pointless except for the use above and I am sure that is not what they intended to do with them. When I saw what Air France produced I was staggered and realised what tat we produce. As for the Duty Free - which is in the same publication - not duplicated as we do.

The poor Darlings over at United probably need to communicate after all I read about their friendly skies - misery loves company. When all you have is a slightly bigger chair to sip your G&T at $7 duty free I would probably think that it is OK to write on the walls if that's as good as it gets.

Actually as it is Friday evening I will have a B&S myself and content myself with writing filth on this Forum.

La PUCCI ... what a pointed and accurate observation. ^

I get the occasional BA questionnaire [we have had 2 today] ... "Have you read Highlife?" No, I haven't! Why should I? It contains nothing, is usually dogeared and probably out of date anyway. And I have a book, in case the AVOD is dead or simply pointless.

IMO it is tacky, irrelevant ballast.

Gosh, you're wonderful

Edit to add ... why do they include all those "City Guides" of places I didn't want to go in the first place? All the info anyone needs is on the web, not in a crumpled magazine in a seat-back.

........ & then the "idea light bulb" flickered on in my head !

Rather than carting around all the ballast in the form the High Life magazine, why not do an on-line version (so to speak) accessible on the AVOD. It could contain guides to many of the worldwide destinations BA fly to, along the other articles normally seen in the magazine.

Same goes for the Duty Free shopping. That could all be listed in a section of the AVOD too. Perhaps even with an "order from your seat" facility !

Workable ??

In these, the days of Kindles & iPads, I certainly think so ^

People you are missing the best bit of Highlife - the Green Wing/Green Pages where Willie Walsh answers your green concerns.

This month it's about the "perfect flight" from LHR to EDI which saved 1,000 kgs of Co2 I think but I can't remember.

It's completely unbiased in question choice, which such questions as "Would a third runway decrease the degree of circling and taxi times at Heathrow reducing carbon omissions?"
Let me guess...

Sorry to break your bulb but that assumes...

1) AVOiD is working 100% of the time
2) Anyone can easily read reams of text easily enough on the ancient lo-res screens
3) Short haul (at least to Band 4 EU flights) has bugger all AVOiD offering

Nice idea though ^ , I can see it workable in future once the AVOiD system is upgraded.

All I can add to that - please cache a copy of FlyerTalk's BAEC forums before take-off so I can browse through that too

Knowing Pucci, Bombay & Slimline. As in Bombay Sapphire Gin & Slimline Tonic. Mmmm, that sounds good - maybe I'll have one myself before bedtime!

How did you get to be a Mucci without knowing about Pucci's B&S habit?????
