Quote: BA are flying a daily service to HKG in May so may mean your flight remains for June
My flight to HKG in May has just been cancelled. I was originally in a similar position to the OP whereby I was connecting onto a separate ticket on CX to Vietnam.
Fingers crossed they have more success that I did getting to their desired destination!

Quote: Just heard from the hotel I am staying at in Corfu in June to move my holiday booking to July as it is thought that the Greek government will allow travel to Greece after 1 July - I dont know whether this will help anybody?
Thanks

Quote: good idea, July is safer for Mykonos than June.

well worst case they can just change you for free but if the flight is full thats risky so why dont you call them and say youd rather fly from LHR?
Have taken your advice and changed my flights LCY JMK LCY to LHR JMK LHR

I moved an originally scheduled business trip to HKG and SIN from beginning of March to beginning of June (at the time only Asia was really effected when I moved the flights and I thought June would be okay!), anyway BA just messaged today to say my LHR - HKG flight which was originally due to depart at 9.50pm on May 31st has now been rescheduled to 1.35pm departure for LHR which isnt something I am that keen on. Given the change in time - I think that allows me to cancel.

Yes, if there is a 120 minute or greater schedule change from point of origin to the point of destination then you can cancel for a full refund under the standard guidelines.

Only 6 days ago the BA revised schedule for May was published and HKG was to be 1x daily 777-300. Now it’s down to 3 weekly and with a day flight. BA hasn’t had a day flight to HKG since the short lived 3rd daily service from around a decade ago.

I need to cancel my LAX-LHR-BCN flight on June 21/22 return LHR-LAX.on July 6. (Business class) The cruise I booked was canceled. I dont want a voucher... I doubt I will ever cruise in Europe again as my husband is 75 now and it would be at least 2 years before we would dare book another cruise in Europe. I hope they cancel one of the segments... I doubt it would be the LAX-LHR segment. When would I find out about any flight cancellations? If they dont cancel... would I be able to get a refund on the taxes and seats that I purchased for the flights? At least Id get a fair chuck of money back!
thanks!

Quote: They moved it without asking you if it suits or you can get flights? Or was it just an offer?
They didnt move it without asking they emailed me to say that they had heard that the Greek government would open the country on July 1; i received an email two hours later from BA to say that my original return flight on June 7th has been cancelled but ironically not my flight out on June 2. I thought I would try and move booking to 1-6 July. Sense of humour maintained although hair colour increasingly grey!

Interestingly have just received email from BA saying that the flight on June 7 was sent in error and will now go ahead! Joy... if I can I still think I will reschedule for beginning of July

for July cancellations you may have to wait a few weeks. Be patient.

If it a non refundable fare and you cancel without a flight cancellation you would only get taxes and fees and that isnt likely to be very much, it probably wont be a fair chunk.

The voucher can be used for any flight booking, you dont need to book the same route. Are you planning not to travel at all for the next year?

From HKG, I can see BA28 or BA32 operating 3 times a week in May. But the usual 11pm departure arriving early morning in LHR.
The return (BA27 or 31) departs 1:35pm and arrives 0830 the next morning in HKG. It is earlier than the usual 6:40pm departure, but I would not call it a day flight.
