This I read in the French press and was given apparently during the course of an interview to the FT. As you so rightly say - it is so impossible to plan that it would take a parade of pier-end gypsies to determine whether the borders will even be open. One thing is certain. It has been hard enough for lots of people to get one's money back from reputable airlines that I for one would give them none of mine until the situation becomes much clearer. Moreover, can one imagine in any circumstance that any government with any shred of credibility would pay this man's airline for seats that it is not allowed to sell. Ryanair ith their stealth fees for literally everything have shown nothing but utter contempt for it clientele It's whole business model was to be so cheap that people would overlook the nastiness what went with it. If other airlines are obliged to do follow one set of rules, Ryanair should be obliged to do the same or have its licenses to operate as a fare carrying carrier revoked.

I have just had an LCY-PRG flight cancelled towards the end of June. The return a few days later is yet to be cancelled though.
Edit: Return has now been cancelled too.

The likelihood that international borders will be open for casual travel by June is highly optimistic. The sounds coming out of national governments and the EU is not to expect significant summer travel, and not to book holidays.

Until a couple of hours before departure, but if the flight fills up they may contact you a few days beforehand to ask you about your intentions. So there's no rush, I tend to leave this sort of thing for a few weeks.

Again, not saying this is likely, but the error-bars are potentially a lot wider.

It probably is optimistic, but public opinion, and government policy, can change quickly and sharply. For example, how is Greece going to fund a total loss of tourism income? Will the other EU countries bail them out at a time when they face serious pressures of their own? They could easily decide to open tourist hotspots because they think the risks will be low due to many guests no-showing (but not be entitled to a refund). Some destinations reliant on tourism might take the view if they have had a couple million coronavirus cases (including untested ones), then a few hundred or thousand more cases in a tourist population with limited contact with the residents isn't going to shift the dial.
Again, not saying this is likely, but the error-bars are potentially a lot wider.

GR is planned to open to arrivals sometime in June, should be confirmed next week, all we can do is wait for government announcements and avoid the media spin as much as possible

Every country, with a few exceptions, has locked down their country. There is no way countries will allow people this summer to travel freely for a holiday and then return back and possibly infect, setting us all back and flushing the last 5 weeks of self isolation down the tubes. Especially as there are strong views Covid will return in Autumn/Winter again. The virus needs tight controls over the next 12 months.
I am gutted we are in this position, we have to cancel a family Australian 4 week holiday that has been planned for the last 3 years. But as I told my kids this is the hand we were dealt, and we have to do the right thing. I get why people have hope, why not, but one must also look at the facts.

Been keeping an eye on my LGW - SVQ (Seville) in mid June, and a quick look on Expertflyer this morning and it has been zeroed out in all classes for a date I am looking at. And for many other dates I randomly picked in June.
However if I go onto BA.com and try book tickets for the same day, they are still for sale.
Is the zeroed out thing a precursor to cancellation, but they still allow tickets to be purchased? Am I reading that right? Or is it an Expertflyer issue/anomaly? Thanks.
