Row 8 is perfectly fine on the 77Ws - never been bothered by galley or toilets. You also get the extra height and width in the foot coffin as it isn’t constrained by the storage of a seat in front.

As far as I can tell, there isn't any extra space in the row 8 seats, and logically it's unlikely given the manufacturing / chassis process for assembling these seats. Sometimes the crew may be using the top area for temporary storage, which may occasionally catch someone's eye when watching the IFE. But I agree with you about the galley/WC noise issue, particularly on a 777, these are not quiet brids, It's the sort of thing that seatguru printed automatically regardless of real world impact.

For anyone travelling out of Gatwick in the near future, there appears to be two club suite aircraft operating out of Gatwick. G-YMMP / K

Worth paying for seat assignment?

Flying SEA-LHR (777-300) in Club World next month. I’m traveling solo and trying to decide if it’s worth paying for a seat assignment. Normally I pick a window seat but obviously there’s not much to look at overnight. Forward mini cabin is full as are most of the window seats from rows 8-16. Is there any benefit as someone with no status when it comes to meal selection if I sit in one of the last rows? Seems like there’s no real bad seat other than proximity to potential crying babies in bassinets.

Since it is Club Suite, no point paying for seating and as you said, window seat is not a necessity on an overnighter.

Hi all, how is 7K on the -300ER?

the next available row would be 16…should I just got with 16 to be away from the galley? I was a bit worried they’d be out of entree options by the time they got to that row.

7K only has one window as well, and is close to the galley, but the cabin there is more "intimate".
16K is on the wing and service might be poorer.

Pick your poison. If it's a night flight I'd go 7K, if it's a day flight I'd go 16K.

do you have any insight on where service starts on the 777-300? Debating between row 15 and 20 now. Not sure if 15 is toward the front of the second wave for service, or the back of the first wave (or corner as you described it).

On the B777-300 it’s different as there are 6 crew in the cabin, from memory 2 start at the front and 2 from the back I think then 2 in the middle start at the front of their section, all crew serve around 12 customers each.

LHR to CPT, 777-300 both ways overnight, first time in CS. Loads of availability except the front mini-cabin. Grabbed two 12/13K on the outbound, and 14/15A on the inbound. Any problems with engine noise there?

Noise-wise it will be OK on both. But note that rows 12 and 14 (with rows 7 and 19) only have 1 window instead of 2. Usually not an issue for overnight flights but just highlighting, though.

IME row 7 gets quite a bit of galley noise, slamming doors, clanking glasses, that sort of thing, and it'll last up to an hour on either side of meal service. If you're noise sensitive row 16 is likely to be better.

They're unlikely to be completely out of entree options by row 16 (and if you have status you'll probably get your choice regardless of where you sit), but it is possible the most popular choice could run out.

That is high-quality intel! Updated to 13/15K out and 11/15A inbound. Thank you.
