iOS V6.9
There is a new version of the iOS app available on the Apple App Store. V6.9.
In this update: - We’ve added more bugs - Taken away some features “Hang on! Something went wrong” This based on our members feedback. only joking! :D who knows what’s in this new version. |
Android 15
"We're currently unable to display your customer account details. Please try reloading this information by selecting "My Account" " Happens when I click on Account Details or Recent Transactions. Retried several times. Worked after I restarted the phone. Had to restart my phone earlier today as the app was stuck on the BA icon. It worked after that. If I need to keep restarting my phone, does that mean there's some kind of snarl-up that might be solved just by clearing the cache? Or that there's something wrong with my phone? |
Android App. Particularly useless the last week. Unable to check-in online for several flights now. Usually one or more of a bit of perseverance, a cache clear, close the app and start again will result in allowing check-in. It becomes ever more useless.
Sadly, I'm one of those people with two phones, App on iPhone seems fine. Very annoying as the 'Droid is my primary phone. |
May be related to some of the reported issues, we have discovered that the BA web site and app do not like our VPN. We have been travelling for the past few weeks and whenever our VPN was enabled (Nord VPN) the BA app does not work correctly (can not find bookings or account information) and the web site tells you that the BA site is busy. Issues resolved immediately by turning the VPN off. This is a little annoying as I like the security of a VPN when accessing public wifi networks. The flyertalk web site also has occasional issues with VPNs.

There is a new update available to iOS users. V6.12 I also read there’s a brand new AA app as part of their transformation plan. I wonder if BA are following that and plan to release their much talked about app soon as well. It’s been a while since it was announced a new app is on the way! |
My android app never works, even the home page doesn't show the right flights, my accounts always crashes it...
I also have a work iPhone and that works perfectly well....albeit with the usual bugs and slowness, i don't feel like anything has changed with either app since the announcement of the investment in BA IT |
Had a peculiar Lock Screen display for a 1320 flight BP, it showed 1140 vice 1240. BA Staff were baffled too. (BA1444 LHR-LHR)

Anyone else’s account details page on the BA app now missing the picture (tier specific) in the background?

The picture backgrounds (GGL iceberg, Gold statutes, Silver skier etc) were dropped when you updated to the latest version of the app.
I liked the iceberg, wasn’t a fan of the skier I must admit when I was a silver |

Problem is, so many people now use VPNs at home thinking they are more safe when browsing online and they cause all kinds of issues, not limited to Brits using a VPN set to New York and then allocated a license for that territory (which won't work in the UK), your IP address needs to roughly match the location of your card issuer and that most fraudsters will use a VPN ordering online with stolen credit cards etc etc. We regularly have Brits appear on our live chat service set to Porto, Portugal, asking why they can't order online. We ask why they'd order from a .co.uk from Portugal and they reply "no, I'm sitting at home in Stoke!". When you order online, you need to be transparent. Without this, then sites will either block VPNs or limit use. And this will become more frequent due to the reasons I've mentioned. |
Earlier in April I had 4 BA flights in a day. The day prior I checked in on the app (somehow it worked) and saved the boarding passes. I checked the My Boarding Passes tab and they were all there. The following morning I arrived at Heathrow, opened the app, clicked the tab and the whole lot had vanished. Had to print paper ones at the airport. Same ol' story.
