hi all,
anyone know the code for asia or thailand?? thankyou!!!! |
Watch it when using A972200
I had some troubles with this AWD last night. On the last screen where you confirm your reservation, I was given a certain rate. Once I clicked the reserve button, the confirmation page gave me a much higher rate. It appears from discussing this with an Avis rep that this AWD only gives you the quoted rate when you pre-pay. He told me anyways that I could only get the rate that it kept showing me if I pre-paid. There of course is no disclaimer that shows this until you finish your reservation. But possibly wherever this AWD came from has some fine print with it about pre-paying. |

has anyone noticed when checking rates with your Wizard number entered, you get a different rate? I used A972200 and got a $87 rate, and $150 when I also entered my Wizard number......

AWD: K255700
The code was successfully applied for a 7 days rental in Italy (Parma) with Avis. No issues whatsoever. The booked car was an Audi A3 for 220 EUR paid online (+ some extra insurance paid locally) but the online quote was around 450+ EUR before adding the code and make the booking. No questions asked. |

If you have an AWD listed on your "preferred profile", the final page of the reservation will default to that code no matter what AWD you put in during your research. You need to either change your profile or call Avis to get the correct rate for the reservation with your desired AWD. You can always add your wizard number later. |

Corporate Code
Hey my buddy and I are going to CO in a few weeks and are trying to find the best deal on rentals.
Avis seems good but we need a code that voids the under age charges. I talked to some one on the phone at Avis and they told me Corporate Codes are the only ones that allow the under 25 charge to be dropped. Does any one know about this ? or have a corporate code we could use? Thanks!!! |
It seems that avis has voided a bunch of AWD codes that I've been using for almost a decade, discount codes that used to break down prices by 25-40%.
All codes are now null and void....in fact, not a single AWD # will bring down the price by even a dime for the reservation I'm trying to book in Germany and Austria. Any thoughts about this matter will be appreciated. |

If you can not prove you qualify for them, the rental company can hike the price to the highest possible walk-up, and/or put you on the Do Not Rent List. |

What people *should* watch out for is using codes that include LDW as your credit card might decline to cover your accident - a small dent or fender bender is likely to fall through the cracks and get the benefit of the code owner's LDW, but a big accident with injuries and liability will receive attention at the company who owns the code, and there could be problems if your personal insurance and credit card decide to walk away and leave you holding the bag. |
tim tim,
Thanks for taking the time to post these codes. Much appreciated. |

hi guys,
i will be in the usa for about 2 weeks in april. The question is whether or not it is possible to ommit the mileage surcharge? I want to rent a car for 2 weeks but as a one-way (rent in Detroit/Buffalo, give it back in NYC). The problem is that I want to go to Florida, so i really need unlimited miles... All the codes that I used drop the surcharge for one-way rental but there is still a mileage surcharge. Can anybody help me? cheers. |
There are basically 2 types of one-way rate plans:
Retail: unlimited miles, higher daily rate, perhaps with a % discount Corporate/Contract: flat daily rate the same as roundtrip, but with per-mile charges It sounds like you're asking for the same low flat daily rate as roundtrip, for a long distance one-way. You can not have both. Corporate rental locations have a randomly circulating fleet, with higher retail rates for one-ways because of mileage depreciation and difference in demand. The mileage charges on corporate plans account for depreciation, but not demand variables. |

Successfully used N711304 in Italy. Reservation showed that it was a 'contract rate' but there were no issues when I picked up the car. Made a significant difference in the rate.
Anyone else use this code or know what it is? |
