Google linked it to "cititravel".

+1

I'd love to know what this code is designed/intended for before I give it a go. If anyone can help with this, I'd be grateful. Thanks!

We tend to drive on the left side - if we drive on the wrong side we have head on collisions. I suppose we had also better add Australia, New Zeeland, Ireland, and Japan to that list,

You can also add Hong Kong, Malaysia and Thailand to the list of people who drive on the correct side of the road.;)

I'm sure there are more.

Got an Avis UK email through today for a free UK upgrade of one class.

Valid 14th Sept - 12th October 2011.

Code: UEPA023. Says coupon needs to be presented.

The automotive industry spent many years and many millions of $ improving cars to make them automatic and I would like to take advantage of the end result.

All of these expenditures were to accommodate the lazy American consumer because it was such a large market. Thankfully, much of the world isn't like the U.S.

Pucci (not quite the same w/o the Galore, is it?) is right. Man up and learn to drive a manual or shell out the extra money for the convenience.

On one side, I can argue that they should be more consumer friendly and accommodate American tourist. On the other hand maybe we Americans should learn to adapt a bit when we travel to other countries. After all, immersing yourself in the culture is part of the experience.

Do you really need a car? I don't even own one here and I live in the suburbs. Why not consider getting a rail pass that will get you around Italy? Public transportation is so much better in Europe.

can I find out if I am eligible for a code?

I posted this basic question in the regular Avis forum, it more-than-likely should have been posted here. I saw an Avis code D005927, and after trying other codes, this came up w/the lowest rental price(2 weeks from EDI, booked online from the States). I cannot find who is eligible for this code. Is there a way to check on which codes a person is eligible for?

Try Googling Avis code D005927

nanp Sep 14, 2011 6:51 pm

googled it, found this. D005927 "The National Association of Bancruptcy Trustees". A number of people have used the code and have not been asked for an ID, could be worth a shot. Thanks for the practical advice.

I've always used my USAA number: A177232. Never got asked for my ID or anything. I had a 3-day rental and used my upgrade code and for a small SUV for $70 total.

When you use an upgrade code, say it is from a coupon, and you book online, should you just book in one class lower than you really would like to reserve? I tried that with the upgrade code mentioned a few postings above this, for a European rental. The price came out higher than when I did not use the coupon.

OK, I found that it is linked to "Citicorp Leisure Travel." So maybe some sort of rate for Citi employees?

Has anyone had luck with this rate without being asked for ID??

Many thanks!

We are Citi employees and never get ID'd.

Looking for a rental in Jan. 2012; need unlimited miles
Pick up / return in the Maryland suburbs of Wash. DC
Does anyone have suggestions?

Anyone know when the rates will be available for January? I am not seeing any.

Thanks....

I have been using AWD# X154043 which has given me up to 50% off depending on where and what I am renting. It always seems to be the lowest rates though. I have been using this code for years and have never been asked for an ID or questioned about using it. Love this forum!

A quick Google of the code or the username shows that he is posting this code AWD# X1540.. on forums all over the internet for some time now. Probably his own company code trying to increase the useage. :td:

That may be true, but it DOES give decent rates.
Just sayin'.

I personally don't mind if he is trying to increase the usage - as long as it saves me money :D
