Seems the LM+ subscription no longer carries the 10% miles back on Star Alliance redemptions.

It's still showing on the signup website. Where did you see otherwise?

Different Pricing Plans

Interesting. The plans are cheaper and free cancellation/changes are no longer offered too.

Hopefully this only affects new signups but I wouldn't put it past Avianca to suddenly make a no-notice change.

I was just looking at this from two different browers. On Chrome, I still see a version that includes the 10% miles back and its referred to as LM+ in the dashboard (not logged into my accont). However, the screen shots above are from Edge (logged into my account) and the dashboard refers to it as Club LM (and not LM+).

Club Lifemiles was the subscription program preceding LM+. My account still shows the same benefits so I think you're just seeing the previous one. Stop scaring us! LM already is giving me headaches, I don't need additional ones lol.

I still have the old Club LifeMiles subscription. I have to pay one more month to complete the 6 month requirement so that I can cancel since I have LM+ with the Cardless card.

They are separate programs. The differences are the price, $20 (free if you are a Cardless card holder) vs $12, 500 vs 600 miles per month, and 10% rewards back on Star Alliance bookings with the LM+ subscription.

anyone cancel a ticket yet? how’d that go

I just made ticket cancellation with LifeMiles+ subscription. Things went smooth. Except that the $25 Avianca booking fee is non-refundable outside of 24hrs of booking.

So a workaround would be just to change dates until you are ready to fly?

BTW, I tested out the note I posted above about changing the payment method for Club LifeMiles. And it is working. So far two e-mails about failed payment after removing the credit card. I got an email that says this:
"We had an issue with the payment of your Plan Individual. Please verify your account information and if necessary, provide a new credit card. Remember that you have 21 days to confirm your payment method, in case we fail to complete this process, your subscription will be automatically cancelled. If you need more information, contact our Call Center - option 3 or Choose your preference channel in www.lifemiles.com/contact."

I'm debating as to whether I should add a card or not and let it cancel since I signed up for the Elite credit card which comes with the LifeMiles+ Lite subscription. If I let it cancel will I get some sort of long term black eye on my account for being a bad customer who "violated" a contract?

Are there any updates on this matter? I joined LM+ a month ago, and I don't need it anymore. So I would like to cancel it and rejoin when I need it.
I'm also not sure if I can do it without any penalties.

So I let it go for 2 alerts. Week 1 - sorry couldn't process payment. Week 2 - sorry couldn't process payment. I chose to add the payment since I fly a lot with Avianca and didn't want to get dinged. But it seemed like it works like the FAQ says - no payment method, get 3 alerts, then they close it.

Finally got the LifeMiles+ Lite 1000 miles bonus (Cardless Elite holder) on both my and my wife's accounts. It took a while.

Me:
July 10 statement I had well over 3800ish miles of accrual.
Aug 10 statement I had 685 miles of accrual.
Sep 18 deposits of 1000 and 685 miles.

Wife:
July 16 statement she had 1200ish miles of accrual.
Aug 16 statement she had 1600ish miles of accrual.
Sep 18 deposits of 1000 and 1000 miles.

That was my only mistake with the $4500 spending I did for the Avianca Elite card. On my wife's card I spread out the $4500 over 3 months, $1200-$1800-$1500. On my account I was so hell bent on getting that spending done quick, I put $3600 in the first month - I had my property taxes to pay for which I paid using GiftCards.com $100 VISA GiftCards that had a 10% discount that was for father's day to minimize the fees.

Double miles on 1,000 miles means it is $500 of dining or travel spending (2x miles) or $333.33 of Avianca travel (3x miles). So that is nice. I guess if I have any future avianca lifemiles purchases, I'll be sure to put it on the Avianca card to get 6x. Since I already have 4% dining with my Savor card (I don't pay any fees since I'm grandfathered into paying no fees), it makes no sense to put the spending on my Avianca card. Although with travel, I could look to put it on my Avianca cards and get 4x points essentially. Wells Fargo is only 3x (with transfers to lifemiles). It sucks that CostCo travel can only be paid using MasterCard or Visa...

Just an update: I let it go for three full weeks, and it has finally been canceled. I was worried that my account had been suspended or something else, but the email simply stated that I can come back to subscribe to LM+ anytime. Voila!

Anyone's 10% miles rebate *not* post after 15 days from travel and if so, were you able to get Avianca to credit?

I'm probably going to have to do the same because I don't have the option to cancel and I completed 6 months of service.

I still can't for the life of my figure out what the benefit of club LifeMiles is over LifeMiles+. There's supposedly a bonus when buying miles???
