NOTE: This thread has been superseded by the thread entitled LM F and J routes (and the occasional trick-it) Rebooted v2.0. Please follow the discussion there.

Region definitions
C1 North America
C1.5 Caribbean, Bermuda
C2 Europe
C2.5 Middle East
C3 Asia
C4 South America
C5 Africa
C6 Oceania

2X, 3X: in the context of this LifeMiles thread, 2X and 3X refer to any 2nd and 3rd legs of a one-way award ticket.

LifeMiles' Star Alliance Award Chart

Cash & Miles redemptions: buying the max (60%) isn't always the best deal (unless you're purchasing all miles right there). Check here for the best CPM.

Beware of Cabotage: LifeMiles has been known to issue tickets that constitute Cabotage, and at least one instance of denied boarding has been reported, stranding the passenger. An easily-seen example is travel on Copa from LAX to SJU (via PTY).

What dates did you book? I've looked near and far leaving c1 and found no availability. Where are you getting your LM mojo?

Hey!!! I gave it that name! Post #1637.

(but if you really found J for 12.5K, I'm humbly giving you the naming ownership.)

LH630 earlier "re-discovered" one of the boomerangs - the "C2W Phenomenon" - but thankfully removed that post. ^

I'm actually booked out of LAX on Hello Kitty to gummy bear (booked before everything went wonky) and didn't even think of cabotage. Was planning on getting off and taking a flight to BKK. What are my chances of the airline letting me board? Looks like I might be canceling...

You won't have a problem. In fact you can print your own boarding passes and avoid check-in agents all together

I think so too. Kitty to Gummy Bear is not the only booboo. AV itself does it much closer to home. Enjoy your trip, stinger101, it's far better to ride a cat than a litter box.

On my keyboard, I usually confuse the letters "Y" and "Z".
But "Y" and "J"?

Ah! But now I know why First appears with an airline that doesn't offer a First Class!
Ha! Thanks for that, imverge!

Anyone know where the availability of German Wurstairline went? especially F on so called "Boomerangs". No matter what continent. I saw a lot of it like 2 weeks ago.

I bet he ment Y. If you have a look at the award chart:

There is no C Award for 12,500. :-)

Yes FlyingLasse.
That's why I asked the question. Because for me it was impossible.
