I arrived at Denpasar airport August 31st on KL835 (arriving at 7:30 PM), and had arranged the expedited service from balinicetours.com for a fee of US$ 35.

Since I was able to exit the airplane first, I could have done without the service, because there was hardly anyone there. From the moment I exited the plane, until the moment I stepped into a taxi, took exactly 20 minutes, and this included getting the visa, going through immigration, and picking up luggage.

But with 400 passengers or so on board, I would imagine that if you are among the last exiting from the plane, the US$ 35 would be money well spent.

If you are at the front of the plane, save the $$$

Just got back from Bali (two visits), didn't have to spend more than 10 mins in line (even during the peak afternoon arrival slot).

As usual the YMMV tack applies, but I'd take the above with a pinch of salt.

I was in the row just by the exit, and first off after J on my SQ flight - the place was HEAVING when I landed...

Best bit of money I spent! ^

To each their own, mon ami ... all I can report is what I experienced. I have no vested interest in getting you to save the $$$. If you want to spend the money, go ahead.

I am going to Bali for my honeymoon in January and booked the 1st 4 nights through Natan Hospitality - they sent me this email regarding VIP airport service - not sure if they offer the airport service seperately but worth a shot

VIP airport pick up is available!

To avoid having to wait in the immigration and customs queues at the airport, we can arrange a VIP airport collection. The cost for this service is US$ 35/ person.

Our airport representative will be waiting inside the airport arrival hall directly outside your gate to greet you when you arrive. He will have a sign with your name on it.

Please note that you will also need to pay for your visa on arrival (if applicable). For the Visa On Arrival, please prepare beforehand, US$25 per person (including babies!) with each passport and our representative will collect it along with your carry-on luggage at the gate so you may quickly proceed through immigration to the luggage claim where you can point out your luggage to our staff. Once you have collected your luggage, you will then proceed directly to the Customs and exit counter without additional waiting time.

If you would like to arrange this service, please kindly advise us the full passport names and flight arrival details for each member in your party

We look forward to welcoming you to the island of Bali.

There are many different people who can offer this sort of help walking through the monstrous queues, it's a crying shame that Bali permit this given the expense getting here.

I must say that $35 strikes me as a ludicrous ask, in my experience even $5 is very well received and feels like paying a ransom - this is Indonesia, not London! I am always conscious not to spoil the pitch for fellow travellers.

Hi all - great information in this thread. Will try balinicetour for our airport transfer upon arrival.

Question -- would anyone recommend this service upon departure, or is leaving Denpasar generally painless?

Many thanks

Paying the departure tax and clearing outbound immigration is usually painless at DPS. Check-in lines can be long, though, for economy. And even premium checkin can be slow, due to common inter-lining and pax with tons of baggage.

The initial security check at the front door to the terminal can be a slog, but nothing can be done about that. The real security check at the gate can be a crush too, but nothing can be done about that either.

I used Bali Concierge at the beginning of the month. Booked the service on the website and received an email confirmation. I was particularly impressed that they were able to respond when I emailed that I got rebooked on a flight getting in 8 hours earlier with 20 hours notice, and they were waiting for me at my new flight time.

The concierge met me at the entrance to the arrival hall with a sign with my name, took my $25, and went to buy my visa. Then he escorted me around immigration to the baggage claim, where I waited while he backtracked for my stamp. I claimed my bags, he caught up to me and escorted me through customs and out to my hotel car.

It certainly wasn't a situation I couldn't have navigated myself, and maybe it would have only taken a few minutes longer (my new flight didn't have a lot of other arrivals at the same time), but it sure was more relaxing with the service. It would have been really, really nice had it been busy, and there was peace of mind from knowing it didn't matter.

Just returning from Bali now and recall wondering if we should use a service upon arrival.... Decided against it and things worked out just fine..... The key is to get off of the plane fast enough and get to the visa selling booth. We got there before the lines formed and were able to get out of the airport in less than 15 minutes. We had arrived on Thai Air at about 2pm.

The service used to cost US$ 25 and I had used it on a few occasions. Super fast through immigration, usually went to the duty free on arrival and by the time I was done there the luggage had appeared on the belt.

Then the service disappeared for a while - "war on corruption". When it reappeared last year it cost US$ 50, which I found a bit steep. Looks I wasn't the only one. So they apparently lowered it to $35.

This year I always did my Indo immigration at CGK. They also offer some sort of VIP service there, but if you sit in the front of the plane you don't really need it.

It's worth checking with your hotel.

It was offered at $25 p/p for me on my previous trip, instead of $35.
