There may be a H401 promotion in the San Joaquin Valley offering a discount through the month of February. A friend saw an advertisement to that effect in the Fresno Bee.

The new issue of Arrive had a mention of 20% off fares to Philadelphia through 5/27/2004. Use promo code V729 for 20% off unreserved coach. This was listed with the article about the Art Institute's "Manet by the Sea" exhibit.

A new 5% on-line booking discount takes effect March 1. It is "stackable", meaning it can be used in addition to other discounts. There are some blackouts and exceptions, such as Acela Express/Metroliner.

It seems that there are NO discount codes for weekday Acela Express trains New York - Boston. I (and many others) would be very appreciative of such a code

North of New York fares have already been lowered to a MAXIMUM of $99 and unlike airline fares there ar no add taxes or fuel surchares. In fact the shoulder fares are only $92 each way and the off peak fare is only $85 each way.
You can upgrade to first class for an additional $50 each way, and again unlike the airlines this is not space available, you can upgrade at the time of booking.
It's already a good deal, what are you looking for?
