Trip Report
I stayed at the Encore this past weekend - checked in Friday, April 3, around 11:30 a.m. till Sunday.
Check in: After reading the reviews for this past weekend, and seeing the crazy lines at checkout, I'm surprised check in was such a breeze. There was only one person ahead of me in line and I was able to get to the counter in under five minutes. I asked for 4 p.m. check out and she said that was automatic. She also gave me an envelope that contained a letter explaining the FHR benefits and a list of available resturants and times.
Upgrade: I was not offered an upgrade to the Tower Suites, and didn't know paying for it was an option. It wasn't offered and I didn't ask. I ended up with room 3211, which faced the new Fountainbleau, Rivera, Circus Circus and kinda had a view of the golf course (if you looked to the right).
Food: We had lunch Friday at Society Cafe, breakfast Saturday at Tableau, lunch Saturday at Wazuzu, and breakfast Sunday at the buffet. All meals and service at each of the resturants were excellent. The buffet was just ok - maybe because I'm spoiled by the Sterling Brunch at Ballys, or maybe because I waited an hour in line. Each meal was over the daily amount ($30 pp for breakfast, $45 pp for lunch) mosty because we ordered a bottle of wine or multiple mimosas.
Food Credits: The food credits were not applied per meal, but rather $210 was deducted from my bill. For example, lunch at Society Cafe was not on the bill at all and was around $130. Also, lunch at Wazuzu was listed at $34 and I remember it being around $130 as well. Breakfast both days was listed in full. I asked about this and was then told they just deducted $210. So I wasn't one of those lucky people who got a little more than the $60 and $90 credits.
Bill: My bill did not show any room charge at all, including taxes. So the two nights were completely free, eventhough PTS said I would have to pay taxes. Also, I never had 1 night charged to my card, like PTS said. My bill came out to $402 - but that included the extra food, and lots and lots of drinks at Tryst, by the pool, etc. Considering PTS told me the room was $395 a night, I think it was a bargain.
Just like PTravel said, they definitely accomplished their goal with this promotion. I am sold on Wynn/Encore and will be staying there on my next trip to Vegas. Thanks to the OP for sharing this promotion - I never would have heard about it without him!
If anyone has any specific questions on the promotion, or about the hotel, feel free to PM me.

How exactly do the credit's get applied? Is it $60 per day for breakfast ( 2 guests in the room) plus a one time credit of $90 (2 for lunch). I am staying 4 nights, paying 2, staying 2 for free. Should I expect $330 of credits back? Is it $330 back off the specific meals or $330 off anything at the hotel? (ie drinks, minibar, etc)

I think, too, it was probably done as a total credit against food (again, consistent with comp practice). I'm pretty sure that on, at least one meal, we went over the "daily credit," and on the others we were under (we really weren't paying attention -- we just ordered what we wanted when we wanted it). The only charge on my bill was for two drinks at one of the bars. Interestingly (at least to me), our tips to the wait staff were also credited.

I would expect that it would be a total cost comp. Vegas doesn't have any concept of time. What may be "breakfast" at 6:30AM is at 2:30PM to someone else. They would just prefer to give you a stated amount to stick within, and even then sometimes they will comp the overages. It just depends on the person's mood at the time. You'll alwyas get the minimum comp promised though.

On weekends, Saturdays and Sundays are called brunches so I think as long as I stick with brunch times, I may be okay this weekend. In the end, if you make a stink about it, I doubt they would care.
If I enjoy my stay here, I will definitely come back again. Good marketing campaign for Encore. :-:

Wynn clearly stated in the last earnings call that they've been giving away free rooms left and right, but have unfortunately targeted the wrong customers. This new strategy is excellent for both them and American Express card holders. Hope we keep seeing promos like this into the summer months.

Just checked in to the Wynn for my 2 free night promo. Do yourself a favor and give the hotel a call before you arrive, so you know for sure which hotel you should drive to, as they have been moving people between Wynn and Encore of late. The agent was a hoot when I checked in "how do you AMEX people get these great deals? With points or something?" I just smiled.
She offered me a $25 per night upgrade to a room in the tower suites, which I accepted. I've stayed there before and it's well worth the $25 per night fee she offered. (I got the impression I could bargain the rate a bit, but I felt that was more than fair.)
The room was indeed comped. No questions asked. I asked for a room on a floor between 15-25, king bed, non-smoking with a golf course view and every request was granted. I received my FHR amenity letter along with a list of restaurants and times as others have noted in prior posts.
The restaurant list is extensive. Basically, it's breakfast at any of the 5 restaurants at Wynn or Encore that serve it, and a choice of *12* restaurants for lunch.
Good stuff!

Just got back from the Encore/Wynn
We had a great time at the Encore/Wynn.
The Wynn sent me an invitation(regular mail) for a 3 night comp stay with free credit($200 per stay). I was puzzled since i do not know how they got my home address.
Then i saw this Amex Plat promo and i made my stay there for 5 nights total.
3 at the Wynn and the last two at the Encore.
In our case, Mr Wynn did not make any money since i got lucky at the casino and ended winning $800 bucks.
The front desk staff was very helpfull and took care of us with an upgrade to the tower rooms(both properties).
Will probably be going again even if we had to pay(nowdays their rates are low). BUt i will keep an eye in the mail for some future promos.

Not so fast. The letter on arrival spelled out specifically which eateries in the Wynn and Encore were eligible, that list was different for lunch versus dinner, and there were stated times between which those meals would be honored. It also gave a specific dollar amount for each meal. While I'm pleased it turned out the way you described (taking a dollar amount off the final bill), there's definitely reason why people were surprised.
No taxes charged on the room rate either.
Nice!

I talked to Plat travel last night and they said that the promotion ends April 25. I even had the guy look in to blackout dates to see if there was any give there...and there was not. So I was not able to book when I needed to.
