Any recommendations for when I call recon on Monday? Any downside since I got approved for the Everyday? Or should I just apply now for the SPG? I was planning to apply for the SPG 6 months from now.

My current Credit Score (CK): TU: 727 EQ: 729
3 hard pulls this year
9% Utilization
Last approved card was my CSP for a $7500 CL on 4/8/15
I would not apply for SPG since you received only 1K CL for Everyday Card. Before you call recon about the PRG, check your application status online first. You may get approved without calling.

That's what I was thinking too. Just wait until my ED builds my relationship with amex.

I called regular amex customer service this morning and they said they only see one account in my name. Informed me to call back tomorrow and that it might update my account to show the PRG.

Here's what my application status says. I didn't receive any email about getting approved for the PRG. It just seems strange since I've read it's harder to get approved for a revolving credit card than a charge card with them.

@sateran, how did you get approved for 2 cards in 1 day? Or did they pull credit twice 1 week apart?

Very easily I'm sure. A few months ago, I was approved for a Biz Gold and Premier Gold on the same day.

I ran both applications within 5 minutes of each other. I had a pending approval for the PRG and an instant approval for the ED. It's recommended to do 2 apps in one day with amex since it'll count as one hard pull. Verified with my experian CR as well.

1 is a charge card, the other is a credit card. I thought it was commonly known you can do each of these on the same day.

Aww man, I didn't know that. If I applied for prg yesterday late night, can I apply for an ed today? And count as one pull?

In my experience probably not. I did that once got two pulls and Amex delayed processing the second one an additional 3 days for some reason.

Aha! In the fine print it says Gift cards cannot be used for the 100$ airline fee reimbursement. So you won't be able to purchase airline gift cards.

The first sentence is true. The second one is likely not. American Express has had the same rule for the Platinum Card version of this benefit, and they routinely reimburse giftcard (or equivalent) purchases. The rule is not enforced as written.

When these changes go into effect, I wonder whether there will be any targeted offers for current Amex members to apply for the PRG?

I just got approved for the card at 50K bonus. I was unaware of this change. My annual fee will still be waived first year correct?

Received offer 50K MR points for 1K spend. Never had card before, so applied and approved.
