Can I buy multiples of these? I still have to use the offer on 16 of my cards, so I could buy 8 of these $45 GC, if I can just use them as a regular WM GC...

I see a 5/25 offer today for Dollar General. Do they sell anything "interesting" ?

I am reading reports that Dollar General sells gift cards. I will stop by the local store later today to see what's available here. I am also seeing coupons at dollargeneral.com, so there may be chances to double dip.

But a play like yours would have been my second choice!
What do you use them for at WM? Just buying regular goods?

My local Dollar General sells Shell, BP, Exxon, Starbucks, Amazon, HD and other gift cards. Plenty to chose from. also, I've read that they give some sort of discount coupon each week. This Saturday it's $5 off $30; so definitely a chance to double dip and get some extra free merchandise.

Does Dollar General even take AMEX?

Some bloggers have started reporting that their Dollar General does not accept AMEX cards, so you may want to call first. Here’s a snippet from their website:
“Q. Do you accept credit/debit cards at my local Dollar General store?
A. We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover credit cards, as well as PIN-based debit cards, in all of our stores.”
MilestoMemories did have luck in his store, however: http://goo.gl/xwgdsO

I used to not like activation, until one of my restaurant GCs was stolen during shipping via the post office Now, I welcome activation!

It has shipped already, but the charge itself is still in pending. And until it moves from pending, no sync offer rebate...

I think my charge hung around for a long time, ordered a couple days before taking a 4 day vacation I think it posted and credited a couple days after I returned.

Thanks for the info.

Have you personally used it at Walmart or just read about it?

I read some posts on FW that the fine print on the back of the package said it can be used for purchase at Sam's, WalMart and the online sites. The same person ordered one (but he could use it at renewal as he was already a member), the shipping notice email has the same language. If this indeed the case, then this is a solution over the $50 GC that there are reported difficulties on activation. Though someone said at WalMart they could activate it in store if you bring all the paperwork.

I ordered two $50 Sam's Club gift cards. One I was able to activate with no problem online. The other kept giving me glitches, and I never received confirmation that it was activated. Yet when I went to Sam's Club, I was able to use the unconfirmed gift card with no problem.
